Americas total population edit
Hi Dear. I'm sorry if this is not the right place to talk, but I couldn't find another way to reach out to you. The source I had added, the CIA Factbook, gives a total number for the population of North America and South America, so I summed them up and because it's a variable number that tends to get bigger, I used a > sign, to not make the number static. Is there a rule about citations being exact? Could I use the citation if I use the exact sum of both numbers?

- @Gootle84: When I clicked on the link you gave as a reference, it led to a "Population Distribution" page that gives no figures for the populations of any countries or continents. The only information it contains about North and South America is that they have about 8% and 6% of the world's population, respectively. (It's also worth noting that the Americas article currently contains at least four different figures for the total population of the Americas: 964,920,000 in the infobox, "over a billion" in the lead, 973,186,925 in the "Total" row of the table in the "Countries and territories" section, and "about 985 million" in the "Demography" section. I assume that the discrepancy is due to differences in sources or differences in times the figures were added.)
- As for your questions, according to WP:CALC there's nothing wrong with simply adding figures for North and South America to arrive at a total for the Americas. You will, however, have to find a source that explicitly states such figures. Myself, I'd avoid the vagueness of ">1,000,000,000" and give the actual total reached by the addition, which is likely to be a rounded estimate in any event. - Sysops will be able to use Special:CreateLocalAccount to create a local account for a global user that is prevented from auto-creation locally (such as by a filter or range block). Administrators that are not sure if such a creation is appropriate should contact a checkuser.

pronunciation "inferno"
would you please rethink your revert in the article: Inferno (Dante)? I have never heard that an italian would pronounce "inferno" like this. espescially guys coming from Florence(, where the purest italian is spoken,) would pronounce it with a very clear 'n'. for the sake of a correct lemma: please do your own research in the case you disagree with me...(note only note '5'...i read this note and i couldn't believe it) Joachim1970 (talk) 22:53, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

And yes: I read the discussion between peter238 and trovatore about that issue. peter238 introduced this "theory". reliable sources concerning an alleged assimilation of n->m haven't been given. because there aren't any. neither on the internet nor in the books... - @Joachim1970: The only reason I reverted you is that Help:IPA/Italian seems to represent current consensus on how Italian should be transcribed in IPA on Wikipedia. If you think that needs to be changed, you could try establishing a new consensus through discussion at Help talk:IPA/Italian. Deor (talk) 17:55, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Celestial spheres
Re [1], I know that commons:Category:Celestial spheres exists, but that seems to match Celestial sphere rather than Celestial spheres.
