Thank you edit

Hi Delta Tango. Many thanks for your words of encouragement. Cheers Paul from Brum (talk) 17:10, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Terrence Malick edit

The Talk Page for this article has an extended discussion of this. --Kitrus 06:07, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The above is response to something I wrote on his talk page. My reply is found @ User talk:Kitrus

Delta TangoTalk 06:00, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Since the edit war has, with few exceptions, stopped for the past several weeks, I wouldn't get too worked up about it. When the reference to Malick's ethnic identity was taken out, both parties (me versus the dozen or so Assyrian editors) essentailly ceased the edit war.
If the issue still concerns you, I would point out that my primary source, Yahoo News trumped theirs.(link here)
The opposing editors failed to provide an equally respectable source. They relied on obscure online references. This can all be read on the Talk Page.
Out of curiosity, why did you approach me first and not the other editors?

39th BN edit

Just a quick Thank You "Delta Tango". Great job it looks a lot better now. I was trying to make a "InfoBox" (Over at my User:Vufors) with the standard layout, but had trouble with the new fields headers that I needed. But you produced exactly what I wanted, so thanks! It looks professional and follows the Wiki standards. Best Regards Vufors 01:26, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank-you! edit

I just found the link you left on the Esperanza MfD to Who Writes Wikipedia?. Thank you so much for that. I'm now going to, ahem, distribute it a bit more! Carcharoth 23:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you do that, I think that's a good thing to do. :) We Wikipedians can easily become arrogant and disrespect new users and IP users if we don't get the right perspective. Delta TangoTalk 08:20, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ceyockey RfA edit

A generic but nonetheless warm "thank you" for your words of support in my RfA. I'm glad that you affirmed Radiant's nomination and I'll be measured in my use of the cleaning closet's contents. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:38, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you have any opinions edit

About the new section versions on evolution, I would be glad to hear them.--Filll 22:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've read through the discussion at Slrubenstein's fact and theory section and I'll look at the comparison at Talk:FactandTheoryComparison. I appreciate your effort to try to keep the theory and fact section clear. And simple is good as long as it covers what it's intended to explain. I'll post comments on the appropriate talk pages as soon as I've read through the comparisons. Delta TangoTalk 22:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Theories edit

Thank you for providing me with the link to Geothermal Power, but that is not the same theory. My theory is to directly use the heat from the earth to create an electric current, it does not involve water, steam, turbines or any other physical process.

Thank you,

Image copyright problem with Image:JWCCrest.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:JWCCrest.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 07:33, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Sociology Newsletter: II (April 2010) edit

Sociology ProjectNews • April 2010
Spreading the meme since August 2006

The Sociology WikiProject is conducting a roll call (or min-census, if you prefer). More then five years down the road, we have over 50 members, but we don't know how many of them are still active in the sociology area. If you are or want to become once again an active contributor to the sociology content on Wikipedia, please move your name from the inactive to the active list on our roll call (or add yourself to the list if you haven't joined yet!).

In other news, we have reactivated the newsletter :) At least, for this announcement. We also have a new, automated to do listing, an active tag and assess project (which has identified about 1,800 sociology articles on Wikipedia, and assessed about 1,3000 of them), and three new userboxes for your self-identification pleasure :) On a final note, I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Sociology page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions.

You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a recipient of WikiProject Sociology Newsletter (Opt-out). • signed

WikiProject Sociology membership edit

You are listed in the Category:Wikipedians interested in sociology, probably due to the use of "This user is interested in sociology" userbox, but you have not added yourself to our official member list for WikiProject Sociology. This prevent you from, among other things, receiving our sociology newsletter, as that member list acts as our newsletter mailing list (you can find the latest issue of our sociology newsletter here). If you'd like to receive the newsletter and help us figure out how many members we really have, please consider joining our WikiProject and adding yourself to our official member list. Thank you, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 12:59, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:MilitaryExerciseKids.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:MilitaryExerciseKids.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 12:06, 16 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Orphaned non-free image File:JWCCrest.gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:JWCCrest.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:38, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
