Disambiguation link notification for April 4 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Steve Flink, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Barrett and Roland Garros. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disambiguation link notification for January 1 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tatsuma Ito, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Duckworth (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Привет из России edit

Здравствуйте, Deinocheirus

95.29.132.221 (talk) 17:25, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to WikiProject Portals edit

The Portals WikiProject has been rebooted.

There are sections on the WikiProject page dedicated to tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too), and areas on the talk page for discussing the improvement and automation of the various features of portals.

There's a watchlist, of all the pages in the portal namespace, for viewing Related changes.

And more.

You are invited to join, and participate in the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system and all the portals in it.

We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

See ya at the WikiProject!

Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   14:44, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much edit

The RfC discussion to eliminate portals was closed May 12, with the statement "There exists a strong consensus against deleting or even deprecating portals at this time." This was made possible because you and others came to the rescue. Thank you for speaking up.

By the way, the current issue of the Signpost features an article with interviews about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.

If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.

Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   23:07, 25 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

P.S.: if you reply to this message, please {{ping}} me. Thank you. -TT

Don River edit

Hello
Thank you for taking the trouble to post a request move over this, and to present a case for a primary topic here. I've replied there also, but I'm was interested in the graphics you provided; how did you do that? The only way I know to use pageview statistics is to manually count them. Is the function readily available? Regards, Swanny18 (talk) 23:10, 14 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, it's still manual, in a sense. When I get from a history page of an article to a pageview graph, it's still one article only. But then I can add additional article names in the search window right above the graph, like this: [1] (up to 10 articles). And on the left side of the graph I can manually tweak the date range in the "Dates" window. --Deinocheirus (talk) 19:06, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Ahh! The penny drops! I've been looking on the wrong page. Thank you; a new toy to play with! Swanny18 (talk) 23:53, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
