Ironically, this is a song from a performance about Pinocchio. And P. does appear as Pinocchio on the video (fact-checker: 5 Pinocchio). And even Malvina is right there, arrested together with Pinocchio. As about Karbas Barabas, that is "bat'ka". It is just amazing how precisely the art can capture the past and the future. Of course it was another "bat'ka" in the past ("оказался наш отец не отцом а сукою" [6]).

This is not difficult to predict. Both bards were very patriotic. What would remain from the Belorussian Station without the patriotic song by Okudzhava in the end of the movie? Nothing. This is a culmination. Same of course with Vysotsky (no need to cite). But they were not like Yulia Drunina (great respect to her) or Yunna Morits with her most recent poetry about NATO, etc. (if that is what you mean). We know that because Okudzhava wrote the poetry above in the end of his life and because Vysotsky also wrote this [7] and this [8]. In a way they were patriotic dissidents (unlike Drunina and Morits). But the real question is different: what we are going to do with our lives? [9]. This is nothing new. Various propaganda techniques were used for a long time. 5% населения достаточно, чтобы сделать революцию". Yes, Lenin proved just that a century ago ("give me a party of revolutionaries").

However, using such large-scale Big Lie/brainwashing can be done only by politicians with the "balls of steel" (as P. said), i.e. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, CPC, modern-day rulers of Russia, Taliban, or even D. Trump (most Republicans in US still believe that the elections were stolen). The Belorussian or Russian oppositions are simply not from this league, and most important they really want to establish a democracy, rather than dictatorship or worse pursued by the leaders with the "balls of steel". Hence, the political commentator from Sputnik (news agency) was wrong, at least with regard of his intended "target". If anything, the fear of the Telegram channel only shows how the criminals in power are afraid of their own people. This is not to say that the future revolutions in Russia and Belarus will not happen. They will, but I do not think they will bring democracy, at least in Russia. The actual problem/reason here is the political regime itself. By removing the democratic process such autocratic regimes do not allow the peaceful transfer of power. What remains is a violent revolution, a war, a natural death of the tyrant (rarely), or a palace coup (most commonly). That was understood very long time ago. As a proof I can cite Alexander Pushkin:

И слышит Клии страшный глас
За сими страшными стенами,
Калигуллы последний час
Он видит живо пред очами,
Он видит — в лентах и звездах,
Вином и злобой упое́нны
Идут убийцы потае́нны,
На лицах дерзость, в сердце страх.

Yes, such political regimes are typically very stable, with monsters on the top replacing each other for centuries. If L. or P. die tomorrow, little will change in their countries. Hence "Ребята, нас всех обманули". Note that poets say above: "обманули", "Сколько понадобилось лжи". This captures the problem on the more general level, i.e. evil wins because he lies. See King Lear (1971 USSR film), one of the best Soviet films. It shows it. Admittedly, I oversimplify. It does matter who rules in an autocratic regime. Consider someone who actually did a lot of good like Gorbachev. An sure, L. leaving his post would trigger some important events. My very best wishes (talk) 14:37, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
