Copyright problem: Triple J Hottest 100 Australian Albums of All Time, 2011

Hi. Rather than the usual form letter, I just wanted to leave you a personal explanation of the copyright problem in this list. While factual lists are not copyrighted, lists based on personal opinion are. That includes "hottest" and "best" lists of this nature. (A more complete explanation is at the still-unfinished User:Moonriddengirl/Copyright in lists.) We have permission from the network to use some of their lists, but their permission was very specific as to which lists were included. It did not mention this one (understandably, since the permission was given in 2009), and without explicit permission or a general release we can't reproduce this list, I'm afraid.

Undoing Brisbane Roar edits

The info thing about Suncorp isn't needed. Yes, the club play there but there is no reason to have it on the page. It's about the Roar, not Suncorp Stadium. All I see fit is that there should be a link to Suncorp Stadium's page, nothing more as it distracts from the Brisbane Roar page itself. I apologise for not coming to you first but there is absolutely no reason to put more relevance to something that is low in significance to other things about the club.Protenpinner (talk) 07:05, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Win  %

With the club's win percentage, the club have it listed as a draw with the grand final win. Should it be noted in the coaches thing? just for clarification? Protenpinner (talk) 15:33, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

If they have it as a draw, the it should be changed to a draw in the table. Same for one of Miron's results too - We lost a PSO to the Victory in the preseason comp of 06/07, so that should be changed to a draw too. The Roar site was f*cking up for me yesterday so I was unable to check. Would be appreciated if you could run your eye over the numbers to ensure accuracy too. Ck786 (talk) 20:57, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Trialists

With the edits you made to the trialists for the Roar's season (11/12), a lot of the trialists were named in the match guides at the pre season matches, but the Roar haven't put them up on their site so there is no way to proove it. colours

I think it should be listed in the crest and colours section because the colours of the kit have changed, hence the "crest and COULOURs". 2011-12 NextGen Series

I didn't mean to undo all your hard work. However, the reason I removed it is WP:WEIGHT.
An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. For example, discussion of isolated events, criticisms, or news reports about a subject may be verifiable and neutral, but still be disproportionate to their overall significance to the article topic. This is a concern especially in relation to recent events that may be in the news. Note that undue weight can be given in several ways, including, but not limited to, depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, and juxtaposition of statements.
I don't see why the final should have the line-ups when no other match does. This is the page for the entire tournament, not just the final. Adam4267 (talk) 09:22, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

The account is not blocked, nor is it affected by an autoblock. As far as I know, there are just two other possibilities.

1. You are editing from an IP address which has been blocked even for editing logged on accounts. In that case, we will need to know the IP address. The message you see when you try to edit will tell you what you need to do in order to make an unblock request that includes the information we need.

Socceroos match numbers

You have edited {{Australia national football team results2}} to include match numbers per OzFootball. OzFootball and the FFA disagree on the status of a number of matches. The previous numbers are from the FFA. Hack (talk) 03:53, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

There was a more recent list on the FFA website but this pdf has all of the games up to 2006. The list of matches starts from page 13. Hack (talk) 04:39, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

OzFootball only count games that are recognised by both competing associations. There are a few games on the FFA list that are only recognised by Australia as full internationals. Hack (talk) 04:57, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

To be fair, in that respect OzFootball are probably more right/less wrong than the FFA on this one. It's hard to justify the validity of a match if both associations don't recognise it. Ck786 (talk) 21:37, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Yeah I guess. I'd be interested to hear their rationale and the rationale of the opposing confeds who do not recognise these games. Cheers for the info anyway. So as far as Socceroos statistics are concerned, such as those on the Australia national association football team all-time record page - would this include matches that are considered as A-Internationals by both confeds or just by the FFA? I'm in the process of updating that page and currently most of it is for mutually recognised fixtures. Then there are some other fixtures, such as some olympic matches (prior to the format changing to U23) against full strength non-European opponents that are mutually recognised as A-Internationals, however matches against under-strength European teams are not mutually recognised; meaning that in the same international competition there are both A and B list matches. The problem with classification of games is that for a long time it didn't matter that much. With the introduction of rankings, it is now an issue. So we have now have people going back into the past to retrospectively classify these matches. Different people have different standards which explains the messiness of this situation. Eventually I was going to add the B international stuff to the relevant results articles under a separate section. Some of the B internationals had a greater profile than the A internationals. Yes I have noticed that (disparity with the profiles of games) and I had thought about doing just as you suggested and including a B-international section. As it is, I'm working on adding in the FFA recognised A-Matches into their respective season/results articles with the annotation that they are not mutually recognised as A-Matches.
