Zambian Road Network edit

Hi @Chils Kemptonian:, I noticed you live in Zambia and wanted to ask about road signs and markers in the country. Like in South Africa, we have markers for every road, I.e. The N1 marker below.

Does Zambia follow the SADC standard

https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:SVG_road_signs_in_the_Southern_African_Development_Community (Commons Road Signs)

https://www.transport.gov.za/documents/11623/109113/SARTSM_V2full_2019_compressed-pages_1_51.pdf/106cc340-5d33-49ef-81f6-f6096ab6a10d (Standardization report)

If they follow a similar pattern of the South African Signs such as the N1, I can easily edit the market to display a “T” or “M” instead of an “N”

Well, Zambia doesn't have an exact unique design for its road signs. In the past, there used to be signs by "major junctions" alone which would indicate which towns are found if you turn right, left or head straight; I was very young in those days but if I'm not wrong, they looked exactly like the South-African road signs for "Regional & Provincial Routes" (in green). Those signs have been removed in the past years, probably by citizens, without being replaced. At present, only the Turnpike junction 55 kilometres south of Lusaka (Livingstone Turn-Off) should have signs looking like that at the moment.

In some other parts, they would simply mention at junctions which towns are found in which direction on amateur boards without mentioning the route numbers for the respective roads.

So, these "numbered routes in Zambia" are rarely displayed anywhere away from GPS systems like Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. When one drives around Zambia, they will not see any signs indicating that this is the "T3" or this is the "T2". That's the problem with Zambia. Even the "Zambia Highway Code" doesn't say much about the design for each "numbered route in Zambia".
