My deletion from General Semantics edit

Aha! I finally parsed that sentence. It read, you'll recall,

Yet another characterization for general semantics, indifferent to all university standards and limitations, considers general semantics a "discipline."

It is, at best, awkwardly worded. The placement of the phrase "indifferent to all university standards and limitations" gave me fits trying to decipher the sentence. But feel free to put (a hopefully rewritten) sentence to that effect back in. Phiwum (talk) 04:12, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Odd edit edit

Can you explain why you did this? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=James_Toback&diff=1127858088&oldid=1127096109 I've never encountered an edit like it. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 07:11, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

The default algorithms that were active in Wikipedia software were prompting related articles either marginally or not at all related to Toback. Canhelp (talk) 16:54, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'm not familiar with this method or with best practices. Can you maybe point me to some documentation for how to do this and how to do it well? I'll reinsert this if the algorithms are still the same (are they?), as it looks like you've got a good reason for including it and I just didn't understand. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 17:02, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I just glanced at what currently displays as James Toback "related articles." I believe this is the same display or at least is a closely similar display to what I updated with my manual change. I believe the documentation I used to make the change is the documentation viewable at: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RelatedArticles#Usage Canhelp (talk) 17:42, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Neat. Thanks for educating me. Seems like we should have some local documentation on how to use it (where to place it in a page, maximum amounts, etc.) ―Justin (koavf)TCM 21:50, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
