Jamala al-Baidhani edit

Thanks for leaving a note after you patrolled the page. I was concerned it was a little short, but I don't read Arabic, so my English sources were limited. :) It's good to know everything looked OK. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 02:02, 5 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

No problem, I always like leaving notes for people whose articles I review, cause people never do the same for me even though I'd like them to. --Bobtinin (talk) 02:29, 5 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Re: Ways to improve UFC 193 edit

Hello Bob. The way I've created the article is the same as all other UFC event articles are created initially. As time goes by, more bouts are added to the fight card, made official, and media will begin to focus in even more on the event. In this early stage, the article would likely be tagged. In the weeks to come, the process will commence and my colleagues and I will build up the article the way other UFC event articles before it have been. Have a good night my brother. Carlos Somoano edit

Hi Bob, thanks for the message. I guess you're referring to the NCAA article, but there were hyphens in the link, which messed up the ref list, so doing what I did was a way of getting round it. Also, much of the article, including his education and what he did with the Tar Heels after their championship win in 2011 is lifted from UNC's profile of him, which is referenced in the external links section. Hi, thanks for the input. I actually accidentally clicked 'save page' before I had finished translating the page, hence why it appeared unfinished. Thanks for the review. As it was a Europa League match, the infobox won't be updated (that is domestic league only). However, yes, there is the bigger box that articles have to tally up all appearances, I can put that. '''tAD''' (talk) 19:12, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Unitec Department of Performing and Screen Arts edit

I have seen many other pages with information on schools, universities and education institutes with the same kind of information, so how is ours any different???? Our information is factual spelling out the history of our school and some of the alumni who have gone through the school and listing key staff currently here. This is not advertorial, these are facts. Here is an example of a school page that you have not deleted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_National_University_of_Arts ... so how are they different? In fact this page is far more "promotional" than ours reads. Please hope no personal bias is being used by your admin team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pasaunitec (talkcontribs) 21:54, 6 August 2015 (UTC) --Pasaunitec (talk) 21:42, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Pasaunitec: First of all, I do not represent everybody on Wikipedia, just because an article that doesn't fit the standards exists doesn't mean your article should stay refer to Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. In addition, the article you have linked is adequate in referencing and structure. The reason why your article keeps getting deleted is because of tone, and because it has ZERO references. You must have references in the article if it is to stay on Wikipedia. The tone of the article sounds promotional when you use weasel words like "specialises" or when you say the organisation "fostered strong links in the community". Honestly there is no bias here towards you, I've seen some articles so far this year which are similar to yours, and they have been deleted. If you want to make a good Wikipedia article, I'll refer you to this Wikipedia:Your first article, Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, and this Wikipedia:Citing sources. If you want to save your work, make a userspace draft Help:Userspace draft. Good luck to you on your article, and if you have any questions, just ask me. --Bobtinin (talk) 22:08, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Delegate count edit

Just FYI the source that is being used on Democratic Party presidential primaries, 2016 is this one right here: [1] (Associated Press). Whenever someone changes the numbers, editors will fact check them to make sure they match up to the source used. if you have another source, okay good mention it on the talk-page so editors can discuss how it is/is not better than the one currently being used. Please don't change the numbers again unless they match up with a source being used as it misleads the readers. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 17:57, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi Bobtinin,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Can you explain why you did this? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:27, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I believe that particular information totally belonged in the section before the legitimate first-week sales figures came in. However, now that we know the numbers that he actually attained, it isn't so relevant anymore, especially if you're placing it at the very beginning of the section. Perhaps it would be better to put it further down in the section and say something along the lines of, "The album exceeded expectations when it came to sales", then include that. --Bobtinin (talk) 23:32, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:12, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Stavros Halkias moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Stavros Halkias, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
