Your splendid contributions on Iran-related articles do not go unnoticed. Keep up the good work! - LouisAragon (talk) 13:44, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@LouisAragon: Thank you very much. It is my pleasure.
I already wanted to ask you for help on early future, but I want to tell that now :))) I created this article. I think Talysh Khanate may be Reanimation of Sipahbad. «Mihranids of Astara» was the ruling dynasty of Sipahbad. Decline of Ispahbads occurred at 15th century, but Mihranids continued governing of Astara until 18th century. Bayandur Khan who was appointed on 1539, was loyal to Safavid Dynasty. He and his son «Ḥamza Khan» took part in suppressing of local governors of Gilan on 1568 and 1580. Russian academician Melʹgunov mentioned Bayandur Khan from descendant of Paduspanids. Hamza Khan's era was not similiar to his father, because he lead a rebellion against heads of Qizilbash on 1592. Hamza's first son «Bayandur II» succeeded him for 18 years. Hamza's second son «Saru Khan» was prominent rather than the first. Saru Khan who governed Astara from 1610s until 1650s, becamed commander-in-chief of Gilan's corps by order of Shah Safi on April 1629 to suppress the Gharib Shah's uprising. (someone have made him confused with Saru Taqi, but historian Fumani did not mentioned Saru Taqi anywhere). He was commander of Iranian forces that helped Nadir Muhammad Khan to retake the Bukhara's throne on November 1645. Saru Khan was also among leaders of siege of Herat and conquered Zamindawar; also he was who signed the Treaty of Zuhab along with Kemankeş Kara Mustafa Pasha on 27 May [O.S. 17 May] 1639... So this dynasty was very influential on history of whole region even after collapse of Sipahbad. I don't know this dynasty and Mihranids had same roots or not, because i can't find anything else in Persian sources about Ispahbads principality and this dynasty. Maybe somethings can be found in non-Persian sources. I ask you to help me if you want... Benyamin-ln (talk) 22:13, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, I'm not that well versed anymore in Medieval Iranian/West Asian history (with some exceptions). The Ispahbads of Gilan flourished in the Medieval era proper. I think you'd be better off asking HistoryofIran and Kansas Bear. - LouisAragon (talk) 18:07, 18 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Biography note to be removed edit

Hello Benyamin-In,

You wrote me a note regarding an ‘Early Life’ biographical note for Admiral Kamal Habibollahi which we each keep changing. I knew this wonderful man INTIMATELY well, as I am his Son. My father was orphaned at the age of 6 and had NO memories of his own father who passed when he was an infant. The Wikipedia page should be about the Admiral. Where his father was buried is irrelevant. While my father fought for and believed in individual freedoms and liberties for all, including freedom of religion, including a respect for Islam included, he himself ONLY believed in God and a goodness in humanity, and NEVER practiced Islam in any way, shape or form. Again-no disrespect, but this was the man he was. He had a passionate love for Iranian culture, history, and tradition but individually never had an affinity for Islam. Whether his ancestors were Muslims, Zoroastrians, or whatever that is irrelevant. Noting that his father who he never consciously met might have been a Muslim buried in a Mosque ground is irrelevant and UNFAIRLY labels him as something he wasn’t. In fact he spent a lot of his time preaching and educating against RADICAL Islam, not only as a threat to the western world but also as a threat to the over 1 billion+ Good Muslims who have mostly been the victims of extreme ideology. I don’t know who you are or why you feel it is important to ruin my fathers biography with a silly side-note about his father who he never met, but I respectfully ask that you please leave it from here, thank you. Iranian politics general sanctions notice edit

Please read this notification carefully: it contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions to curtail disruption in articles related to post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed. Before continuing to make edits that involve this topic, please read the full description of these sanctions here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

This is relevant to you because you have edited article in this topic recently, and so you need to be aware of these sanctions. You shouldn't make edits like this; this is just a notification; it doesn't imply that you've done something wrong. Also, striking the notification doesn't change the fact that you have been notified, and can be sanctioned if you do not edit within policy. If you do edit within policy, it won't affect you. Please read WP:GS to understand how this system works. Best, Vanamonde (Talk) 20:29, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Vanamonde93: It doesn't related to me. Users can contribute in any articles. You shouldn't WP:HARASS me. OK? Benyamin-ln (talk) 20:40, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I am an administrator, informing you of an administrative decision that affects you. Modify the log one more time, and I will block you. Consider this a final warning. Vanamonde (Talk) 20:46, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93: First, read the WP:INVOLVED.
You make accusations that you haven't any evidence for them. If you continue, I'll see you at WP:ANI. Benyamin-ln (talk) 20:57, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have only dealt with you in an administrative capacity, and am therefore not INVOLVED. I haven't even accused you of anything other than striking your name from the notification log. Go to ANI, if it pleases you, but that's more likely to result in your being blocked; if you want to avoid that, please 'read the pages I have linked to, specifically, WP:GS. Vanamonde (Talk) 21:02, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93: You shouldn't threatened me when you haven't any evidence of such warnings' relevance to me. If you can't prove your claim, I'll see you at ANI. Benyamin-ln (talk) 21:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
What the hell are you going on about? You have, in the last five days, made edits to five different pages related to post-1978 Iranian politics: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. All of these pages are covered by the general sanctions. Are you denying that you made them? Vanamonde (Talk) 21:20, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Shapour Marhaba edit

The article Shapour Marhaba has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article says Mr Marhaba was assassinated on 29 August 1981, and also that he was in office until 7 June 2015. This is down to poor translation. I suspect this is a biography of a living person, and we can't have translations so poor that they say manifestly inaccurate things about living people. Let's delete it until someone with dual fluency in Farsi and English can make an accurate translation.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —S Marshall T/C 13:38, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Shapour Marhaba for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Shapour Marhaba is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shapour Marhaba until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. —S Marshall T/C 00:29, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mirza Kuchik Khan's ethnical background edit

Thank you for your comment on my personal page. I would like to remind some realities about historical characters, and events. For sure part of historical events or family history of historical characters are not pleasant for certain people; however, the aim of an encyclopedia is to illustrate reality of lives and events. Specifically about Mirza Kouchak Khan, the references of his era, clearly have indicated his Reşwan رشوند ethnicity. The references have been mentioned as well. May be the reality is not pleasant for some people. Zandwiki (talk) 07:18, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit reversion edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.S Philbrick(Talk) 23:23, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled granted edit

Hi Benyamin, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 07:50, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Talysh Khanate after Treaty of Gulistan edit

Hello, I'm Golden from HistoryofIran's talk page. I drew a rough border of the Talysh Khanate after Treaty of Gulistan and wanted your opinion on it before I turn it into a map. Image: https://ibb.co/GJpfFBvCuriousGolden (talk·contrib) 12:36, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@CuriousGolden: Hey, it's great and beautiful! The dashed line of borders of Talysh Khanate seems to this map which is not precise. The exact borders were more extended. They were stretched such this one. May you correct them? Benyamin (talk) 10:39, 6 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Benyamin: Thank you. The map you linked only showed the khanate itself, so it was kind of hard to get a sense of the borders, but I tried my best to make it look right:

Good article nominations edit

Salam Benyamin. AhmadLX helped me improving and nominating Hasan ibn Ali, also helped with preparing Ali for nomination, but I guess he is a little busy right now. Could you take a look at these articles and see what else should be done? Mamnoon! Ghazaalch (talk) 09:00, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Requesting some article expansion help edit

Greetings @ Benyamin

Came across your user profile from resources exchange. I have been looking for articles expansion of following articles with help of 'Persian language sources beginning 8 the century' i.e.'Early New Persian' and 'Classical Persian' or modern academic research there of from Iranian universities. If you do not have access requisite sources you can pass on request to some one else as and when possible.

Thanks and warm regards

Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 05:10, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

categories edit

You are adding categories to the articles of the Iranian generals which are not backed by any source, so these will be reverted. --Egeymi (talk) 13:36, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

what? Can you read Persian? If you can, see fa:عبدالحسین حجازی for sources. Benyamin (talk) 13:43, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Categories of the Special:PermanentLink/1081801239 were not according to WP:SUBCAT. pages for sub-categories should be categorised under the most specific parent categories possible. Benyamin (talk) 13:49, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I translated the text there is no reference to his promotion as four-star general. Your explanation does not justify your attempt. So I will revert again your edits, thanks, --Egeymi (talk) 09:13, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Egeymi You wrong. Please ping a user who knows the Persian. Benyamin (talk) 09:15, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
No I am not wrong. The second document gives this information, not the first one. You have just added the second source recently. Please refrain from adding any unsourced information to the articles because most of the articles for the Iranian people lack sourced content.Egeymi (talk) 09:17, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Egeymi I was offended by the accusation that you made against me. Google Translate is poor for Persian. Tell someone to translate the below for you, which exactly copied from that source:

در 1337 به درجه‏ ى سپهبدى ارتقاء یافت و معاون ستاد كل و فرمانده نیروى زمینى شد و سرانجام با درجه‏ ى ارتشبدى به ریاست ستاد بزرگ ارتشتاران رسید، ولى در این سمت دیرى نپائید و بركنار شد و چند سال بعد در 1348 خودكشى كرد.

Benyamin (talk) 09:26, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am also offended by your accusation. I am just trying to cover sourced info. That's it. You yourself started accusation.Egeymi (talk) 09:29, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
You were in a hurry for revert while you can not read Persian texts. This is wrong. At the next time, before revert, please ask the matter. Benyamin (talk) 09:36, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do you think this new infobox is an improvement? edit

Dorood Benyamin. I just added this infobox to an article I brought to GA long ago.[2] Do you think its an improvement? I'm specifically asking you as you have demonstrated to be an absolute pro regarding proper infobox creations. - LouisAragon (talk) 13:33, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@LouisAragon Dorood Doost-e Man. Aaahh, yeah I love infoboxes :))
Ariarathes was a local governor who had military service, so {{Infobox officeholder}} is a befitting choice than {{Infobox military person}} per WP:WEIGHT. Also {{Infobox royalty}} can be used because of hereditary succession of Cappadocia's kings. Benyamin (talk) 16:53, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
