It would be great if you could add your name to the list of participants on the Women, Science and Scottish History editathon series event page, and please feel free to communicate with other participants on the talk page for the event. You can talk about articles to edit, tips for editing, or help each other practice - whatever you like!

Thanks for joining us! edit

Welcome! (We can't say that loud/big enough!) edit

Hello, Anniepedia57! Thank you so much for coming along to the University of Edinburgh's ILW 2015 editathon and for your contributions. Now that you've learned how to edit, I hope that you'll continue helping make Wikipedia better, one edit at a time. Don't worry about being perfect: none of us are! Fortunately there's a whole team of editors just like you who can help.

Speedy deletion nomination of Norman Dott edit

Hello Anniepedia57,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Norman Dott for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 15:40, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

History of Medicine editathon edit

Hello again, Anniepedia57!
Apologies for taking so long to get back to you after last week but am just recovering from the flu. Thank you so much for taking part in the History of Medicine editathon. Just so you know, we uploaded in excess of 500 images to Wiki Commons, created 4 brand new articles on Wikipedia, and improved a further 56! For the event page, click here or to see the whole illustrated story of the event then you can click here: Storify: ILW editathon 2016
I hope that you enjoyed the day, and that we'll see you on Wiki again soon.

Now that you've learned - or refreshed - the basics of editing using Wikipedia’s Visual Editor, I hope that you'll stay logged in and edit or create more articles. I've added some booklets and some links below that you may find useful.

If you're not feeling bold enough to write an (other) article straight away, why not try a small edit first, or adding a link? Don't worry about being perfect, Wiki is a constantly evolving entity. Fortunately there's a whole team of editors just like you who can help.

Welcome! Now have some cake...

You can't break Wikipedia, but in case you're still nervous here are some pages that you might find helpful, especially the first one which covers the main things to remember about using Visual Editor.

The next up-and-coming Wikipedia event is this one run by Sara Thomas, Wikimedian in Residence at Museums and Galleries Scotland. Details here: Modern Scottish Women 2 - Art & Feminism

The University of Edinburgh are also looking into running an editathon for International Women’s Day on (or near) 8th March 2016 – details are still to be confirmed but will be updated on my project page here: Wikipedia:University_of_Edinburgh
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Remember, if you are writing on a talk page, please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. NB: I see there was a slight issue over your Norman Dott article but hopefully you should be able to see that that issue was put to bed almost immediately and there is no longer any issue with the article. Any problems however then let me know.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. See you soon! Stinglehammer (talk) 00:42, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
