Shouldn't the block for BotPatrol be on username grounds? I seem to recall that username block templates have a line that reads something like, "Usernames may not have the word "bot" in the title unless the account is an approved bot account". If you concur I'd be happy to re-block, otherwise I'll leave it be. TomStar81 (Talk) 21:37, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

You've removed my edit by mistake?

Hi Alex. Sorry, i am new to Wikipedia maybe i am using the interface wrong but i didn't find the option to message you directly.

I've just received the following message from you: Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Caligula. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 21:08, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

You have probably made a mistake. I've changed the following line from the article "It was said that the bridge was to rival that of the Persian king, Xerxes, crossing of the Hellespont.[59] Caligula, who could not swim" by linking the phrase Xerxes, crossing of the Hellespont to the relevant (this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerxes%27_Pontoon_Bridges) article

How does that constitute vandalism?

I am awaiting your apologies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.220.238.107 (talk) 21:15, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Hamilton (musical) page protection term

Hi Alexf,

Much appreciation for your page protection of Hamilton (musical). But I don't see what a one week time period will accomplish. This page has received persistent vandalism for almost 2 years now and already been protected several times. That's why I asked for an indefinite period of protection. Especially with new productions of the show currently set to open in 2 U.S. national tours and a production in London, there's no reasonable expectation that the vandalism will die down any time soon. So please reconsider the duration of your protection, so that we aren't right back here in a week. Perhaps 3-6 months at minimum? Many thanks! X4n6 (talk) 21:44, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

@X4n6: Extended it to 6 months, then we see. -- Alexf(talk) 21:47, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
Many thanks again! X4n6 (talk) 21:51, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

31 hours

Hello Alexf. I was wondering what is the rationale for 31 hours block (or historical reason), vs 24, 48 or whatever, but couldn't find this information by a quick search. If you happen to know I'd be grateful, otherwise I could always try the tea house, but it's not really an important question. Thanks, PaleoNeonate (talk) 08:49, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@PaleoNeonate: Not sure why and when that was added as a choice in the tools, but my reason for using it instead of 24 hours is that many offenders are kids from school IPs. They have fun vandalizing during break. 24 hours will set them ready for the same time the next day. This way that is disrupted, so they get bored and go do something else when they can't do it again. Simple but effective. -- Alexf(talk) 09:50, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
It makes a lot of sense and answers my question. Thank you very much. PaleoNeonate (talk) 10:00, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Pacific Union Financial

Hi,

I'd like to work with you to recreate the wiki page for Pacific Union Financial - I was basing the structure/style of the page based on other financial institution articles, while trying my best not to sound promotional, but if the content needs to be further refined just let me know. I'd love to work together to get the article up and running the right way. I'm also fairly new to this, so if I reached out to you in the wrong way I do apologize.

Thanks,

Irony

I see you put David Ibiyeomie up for deletion based on its spammy, drivelly contents at the time that you tagged it. Ironically, the guy does seem to be notable. If you do a Google News search for him you will read all sort of things that might make you smile but which probably do not make the people spamming hagiography on his behalf smile at all. I have reverted to a version of the article that covers his controversies in a little detail, although not too much as it wouldn't be fair to do a hatchet job on him. I'm enjoying the irony here. If his promoters had never brought him to our attention then his controversies might have gone unnoted outside of Nigeria. They may come to regret it. --DanielRigal (talk) 21:48, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Ok. But still way POV. Will clean up some of that. -- Alexf(talk) 21:53, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
Oh dear. I see that it got put it back to its spammy state in-between me reverting it and you seeing it. That POV nonsense is certainly not what I was advocating. I have put it back to what I consider to be the valid version, including the referenced news coverage of his controversies, and given the author of the hagiography a warning. If this continues I'll request page protection. --DanielRigal (talk) 00:01, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Vanessamaeoffice / Jasonjsavage

Hi; you recently blocked user Vanessamaeoffice (talk · contribs) based on username. Today, a new user Jasonjsavage (talk · contribs) appeared, making substantially the same edits to Vanessa-Mae (history).

I'm not an admin and not sufficiently familiar with Wikipedia sock puppetry to say whether this constitutes being a sock puppet; or might just be a good-faith attempt by the guy to re-register with a more acceptable user name (although I think he should have gone the WP:UNC route instead, if that's the case). Can you opine? TJRC (talk) 22:13, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

It is a little more complicated. They may have a COI, and they may be a paid account which they should disclose. I would bring this to ANI. In the meantime, I left a notice to them. -- Alexf(talk) 22:51, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Vanessa-Mae

Dear Sir, I am new to Wikipedia so not entirely sure how to go about this. I apologise if this is not the correct channel.

I have been trying to add to the page Vanessa-Mae. The page currently casts unfair suspicion on Vanessa-Mae by including a large amount of material on her ban by the International Ski Federation, a rather sour reference to her acquittal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport but no information at all on the International Olympic Committee's decision to allow her to keep her Olympic result and the highly relevant damages settlement and public apology from the International Ski Federation. Without this information to balance the existing negative material, the page is actually defamatory!

Please note that I am not being paid to edit this page as has been suggested and I have only used material in the public domain from credible media sources. I am a fan but I believe that I had worded everything sufficiently matter-of-factly.

I also added some information on Vanessa-Mae's charity work over the years which has also been deleted. I don't understand why? It was not promotional and it was all accurate and properly researched and referenced.

I look forward to hearing from you.

The_Rock_Alchemist

Hi Alexf, Can I ask you because the The_Rock_Alchemist 's page was deleted? This is a band with 2 album published with label and worldwide distribution. It even reached some top chart in the world! The article had no references asserting notability for bands. If you have them, and can assert it meets the minimum requirements; (they were pointed to in the deletion notice), then I could userfy the article for you to work on, upon request. BTW, it would be nice if you had linked to the article: The Rock Alchemist. Makes it easier to find. Page deleted

Dear AlexF,

the page I created, of the artist Lino Schwarz (I hope that here creates a red link, I'm not sure) has been deleted like two days after it's creation, I think the reason was that he wasn't relevant enough or something.

I'm one of his gallerists and think it's quite important for him to have a tab on Wikipedia as he's an pretty fast upcoming artist. What do I have to do to keep it online?

Lycro (talk) 15:00, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

It did not assert notability under artist requirements. If you consider it does, we can userfy it to you so you can work on it. As-is, it could not stay. Wikipedia does not work on "relevant" but on notable subjects. Being "quite important for him to have a tab on Wikipedia", as you put it, is advertising and seriously against the goals of the Project. If you want to advertise a "pretty fast upcoming artist" (as you put it), please get a website, or a blog. This is not the place. Once the artist is established, and independent reliable sources have written about him, then somebody not connected will eventually write an encyclopedic article. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 15:11, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Paul Motian link removal

Just a note, the link you removed to the Paul Motian interview was not spam, nor was it an attempt at self promotion. The article linked to was in fact directly referenced by name in Paul's obituary in the New York Times. It was probably the most relevant and informative reference in the Wikipedia article. Jersey Strong Foundation Deletion

Good morning Alex,

Hope all is well. We are trying to create a page for our foundation, the [Jersey Strong Foundation], but it keeps getting taken down. I've taken out any links that could be seen as copyright infringement, but doesn't seem to stick. Could you please advise?

It is not a question of "sticking", but a question of notability, copyright issues, and conflicts of interest. Questions about how Wikipedia works, should be asked at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 14:31, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Alex. As far as notability, the foundation has donated over $500K to nonprofits throughout New Jersey since Hurricane Sandy. Regarding copyright issues -- we have taken out any links that could be viewed as promotional. We've read a multitude of articles, and visited the Tea House, but still doesn't seem as though we can correctly abide by Wikipedia's strict regulations. We're simply trying to inform the public of this nonprofit entity whose looking to continue their altruism from here out. If you could please advise/assist, it'd be greatly appreciated! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhubler (talkcontribs) 14:59, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. When you say "trying to inform the public", that is the definition of promotional. Having donated money does not make an organization notable. You also seem to be confusing copyright and promotional, as you stated above ("Regarding copyright issues -- we have taken out any links that could be viewed as promotional"). Note that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously (as you just saw). Also you refer to "we". That is also against Wikipedia's rules. Please read the help files or ask questions at the Tea House as instructed. This is not the place to get instructions. Speedy Deletion of page titled: Jennyanykind

Hi Alex,

I created the page Jennyanykind several years ago and did not finish it. I am the original founder of the band. The speedy deletion cites a copyright violation with the Facebook Jennyanykind page. I, along with my twin brother Mark (band member), also created that page and added the content. There are plans to re-release the band's 1996 Elektra release Revelater on vinyl in the not too distant future, so I have a gathered second wind to create a basic page for the band that includes a history and discography (to start). May I ask that the page be un-deleted? Please advise if this is an option. I'd be happy to provide additional information as requested.

Best,

Always remember to link to the article, especially if that old (2014), else it is hard to find: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jennyanykind. As-is it cannot be undeleted as it was a copyvio. Wikipedia takes copyright violations seriously. You say you are a founder of the band. Regardless of it being notable under WP:BAND (I've no idea as the subject is outside of my interests), having a conflict of interest is frowned upon. would like deleted text back please

Hi Alexf, can I please retrieve the deleted text (2 days ago) for my Evie Vane article to put on my user page? I'm sorry that it didn't meet the submission requirements; I did read the requirements and was basing my article off a similar BDSM author's, except trying to address the concerns noted about that article.

If you have a minute, could you possibly let me know why the other author's page meets the requirements but mine didn't? My work has been called groundbreaking by many people. If you don't have time, letting me know where I could retrieve the deleted text would be fine too. Thanks so much! Evie Vane (talk) 18:01, 30 June 2017 (UTC)Evie Vane

Given the circumstance with the BLP, the username, and the discussion held beneath the report - I went ahead and applied a soft block on the account so that he can either create a new account or go through the process to verify his identity. I wanted to leave you a message to let you know, as well as be sensitive to your input and opinion regarding this matter. If you object to the action I took, please know that my talk page is completely open to you, and you're welcome to talk to me about it and discuss it any time you wish - I want to make sure that my action does not imply that your input was not considered or didn't matter, and I don't want to step on any toes or upset other users who were trying to raise legitimate concern or opposition. @Ipixelpro: I deleted an article (not your article as nobody owns articles. The rationale was clearly explained in the summary as "A7: Article about a real person, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject". Your user talk page has a clear notice about it explaining why and what to do about it. Looking at the article I see it had one paragraph and nothing else. No references, no sources. That is un-encyclopedic and against the rules of EN Wikipedia. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages by adding four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 11:07, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Request to Restore Page / Un-Delete Page Beyond creation

Hi Alexf!

I was about to create an article for the technical death metal band Beyond Creation, but after searching for Beyond creation (lowercase "c") I noted you've deleted articles for this band on two separate occasions - both times the article was under the heading Beyond creation with a lowercase "c" (it should be uppercase - the name of the band is "Beyond Creation" with an uppercase "C" - I'll chalk it up to user error on the part of the initial article creators). I felt it would be disrespectful and against the rules to create a Beyond Creation page while ignoring your prior actions.

My hope is that I could persuade you to un-delete one of the initial Beyond creation articles so that I could grab the content for my Beyond Creation article (I'd likely then re-direct to the Beyond Creation article, or whatever you think is best!)

I understand that you cited A7 in both instances. I'm confident that I can argue the importance and significance of this band and provide a thoroughly-sourced article that will not be condemned to death by speedy deletion. Please note I'm not saying you were not justified in your actions with the initial pages. I simply believe I can create a page for this band that meets the criteria for existing. Thank you for your time and hard work. On a side note, I, too, dislike haiku and individuals who write in all caps EmperorQuingus (talk) 16:54, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

@EmperorQuingus Old article userfied to User:EmperorQuingus/Beyond creation. As you can see it had nothing to allow it to stay back in 2014. -- Alexf(talk) 17:04, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
@Alexf Oh wow that article is pure garbage. How anticlimactic! Thank you for the turn-around! I appreciate your help! EmperorQuingus (talk) 17:21, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

I did not say he was an unknown, but he needs an article written to be in the list. The article has to be properly sourced. YouTube links you placed are meaningless as they are not a reliable source. As per your name, you are admitting you are not him. Impersonation of a famous living figure is not allowed. Please choose another user name. -- Alexf(talk) 12:01, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

User:Er.ajazkhanroyal

You declined a CSD I left on User:Er.ajazkhanroyal. The explanation seems more relevant to a G11 nomination rather than the U5 nomination I tagged it for. His other contributions, and his deleted autobio at Er ajazkhan (identical to the userpage) show nothing other than self-promotion which puts his user page firmly in the criteria for U5. Please reconsider. Cabayi (talk) 14:43, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Users are allowed to tell a little of themselves in their talk page. It did not have spamlinks, and did not 'sell themselves". The issue with the ar4tcile about himslef he wrote in mainspace is another story and was duly deleted. A Level 3 warning was issued so he is on the way for an indef block if he persists, but his user page, as of that moment was not that bad. -- Alexf(talk) 19:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
The userpage is conditional on them being users/contributors, not just self-publicists. Anyhow, thanks for the rethink. Cabayi (talk) 19:15, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Was wondering why you jumped straight to a level 3 warning on this user - I only see two edits; one where disruption is added, but the second one that removes it. Am I missing something? lol ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:15, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

The edit shows use is not here to work on the project, the edit used someone's name, and the user name is borderline nasty. I opted not to block him outright, because it is borderline, but let him know in no uncertain terms he's being watched and cruising for a block. -- Alexf(talk) 10:32, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

Innerspace Explorer

Hi AlexF

I dont break any copyrights with what i put. Innerspace Explorer is a part of "Coastal Development & Marine Consulting Ltd & Co KG" so how can you have a Copyright on yourself??? This is really looking like you are blocking ISE for personal reasons , we just want to put a presentation of itself on !!

Sincerly Alain — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlainDob (talkcontribs) 16:26, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Alain, it seems you do not understand copyrights. You see the website for the company you pointed to in the article? You see at the very bottom it clearly says "Copyright © 2017 Coastal Development & Marine Consulting Ltd & Co KG. All rights reserved." What do you think that means? Now look at our copyright violations pages. Then after reading that, if you are the copyright owner, please read Donating copyrighted materials. Your mention of: we just want to put a presentation of itself on !! is unclear. I do not know what you mean by !!. If it is what I think it means, then it seems you have a promotional intent, another no-no. If you are the copyright owner, or otherwise related to the company, as seems by your writings here and in the article's talk page, then you should read about conflicts of interest before you proceed any further. Could I also please ask you to always start a new topic at the bottom of talk pages? Bunching it up with whatever the previous section is, does not make sense, and does not make your text immediately visible. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages by adding four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 16:45, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

User:AV-Portal

Hi Alexf,

a fellow classmate of mine is working at Technische Informationsbibliothek. He told me, that with his account the whole institution was blocked. May you be so kind to unblock the IP?

He was blocked due to unawareness of the rules, for the same work which is legal in German Wikipedia. Am I right, that he could participate with an account named "John Doe (TIB)"? Would it be possible to unblock the user AV-Portal (talk · contribs) if the account would stay dormant? His boss wants a redirect to German Wikipedia from the userpage, which is impossible as long the account is totally blocked.

Best Regards, --Railfan (talk) 14:30, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

AIV reports

I see you declined a bunch for insufficient warnings and such just now at AIV. What is the deal with this IP user who drops in a dozen AIV reports liek that in one fell swoop and almost all are insufficient warning or not much recent activity cases?? I've noticed it happening every day or two recently. It's never the same IP twice but it's always the same behavior. Any ideas or insight about it since you seem to regularly patrol? only (talk) 15:40, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Give them two warnings. A Level 2 for the first instance, a Level 3 for the second. Then we can block. We can't tell if it is the same user in an IP. In a school IP it could be a different pupil. If they post several in the same day from the same account then we can block. One or two in a day and not warned, no; unless it is egregious (e.g. racism, or such).

Thanks!

Thanks for getting rid of this nonsense from my talk page :D --Cameron11598 (Talk) 20:02, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Since this concerned something that happened at Teahouse, I initially asked our newest admin, Cullen328, who advised me to seek out an admin that was recently active at UAA. You were the first one I found! Please take a look at this Teahouse discussion, where you will see a response from what appears to be an IP. It actually is the editor linked above. Isn't that a policy violation? I'm not sure and I'm not looking for any admin intervention (hopefully). Just need some clarification. I'll be happy to discuss it with him if it is a problem, or you can. I'm easy. Please advise. John from Idegon (talk) 21:06, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

I left a message on the editor's talk page advising them of my opinion that a signature that simulates an IP address is misleading and violates the spirit of the username policy. I look forward to your opinion, Alexf. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:32, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Cullen328, John from Idegon. I do not see a problem with the username. It does not look like an IP address. If he uses it as a representation of a real IP (without the dots), that's his problem as he can be directly identified, just as an IP is, but I don't see it as a violation. If you want more opinions, you can always post it at ANI. -- Alexf(talk) 01:38, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Alexf, have you looked at the editor's signature? They have formatted their signature with the dots to simulate an IP address. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:44, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Hopefully, it's a moot point. He's changed his signature now. John from Idegon (talk) 02:09, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Ah. I had not looked at the sig. Just the username. Therefore the comment. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 02:22, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

DBeaver article edit

Hi Alexf, Sorry if it looked like a spam - I just did a sequence of consequent edits of the same info just because I'm not very familiar with Wikipedia and made a few mistakes. I've been asked to update information about the recent version of DBeaver - that's all what I have changed. The only link I've added is the link on official web site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Serge.rider (talkcontribs) 13:07, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

@Serge.rider: It doesn't look like spam. It is spam. If your username is serge.rider and you post links to websites than include serge.rider in the URL, then you are spamming your own work. That is not acceptable as a means of advertising, and it is certainly not an independent, reliable source, and it is a conflict of interest, so please stop. Hi there,

Jack_Buck_(Musician_&_Composer)

i am new to this and have been asked to write this for jack to show reputation. I have followed a rough pattern from clean bandit, A really reputable band. so that it isn't to advertise-y. Would you be able to help me edit / change it a bit to fit in with the guidelines. Thank you in advance

Loretta, you said "to show reputation"? Hmm, that alone disqualifies the whole entry and purpose. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of notable people, places, and things. It is not to be a meas for promotion. You say "you have been asked". That is paid promotion. Have you declared? Please read the guidelines. As the subject is a musician, please read the notability requirements. As per your request for help, this is not the place. Read Your First Article. I've no idea what you are asking or what comments are you expecting. I see you are self-advertising, which is not acceptable. Also you are writing an autobiography which is frowned upon. I do not know which page you are referring to as you have not left a red link to it as requested (top of the edit page - item #1). I checked my last 1,100 deletions and did not find it. I see a user account by the name of User:AXJ of the USA was blocked from writing in Wikipedia in August 2009. Are you the same user?
You also say "We are journalists and writers". This denotes shared use, which is forbidden as an account. I am glad you enjoy being a user and have donated, but this has no relevance to, and effect on, circumventing the established rules of Wikipedia. Winpenny School article deletion

Dear Mr. Alex,

Please consider restoring the Winpenny School page we recently created as we are Winpenny School and hold the copyrights to all material contained therein. If you need reassurance of this please visit www.winpenny.edu.mx where you can find contact information and if you feel it is necessary you can reach us to confirm this. Please ask for the Headmaster and you will be transferred personally to confirm this data.

Best regards, Dr. Marc Coleman 138.255.63.186 (talk) 16:20, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Saying "page we recently created as we are Winpenny School" indicates a serious conflict of interest. The page was deleted because it was a clear copyright violation. The page it was lifted from clearly states "Copyright©2015 Winpenny. All rights reserved". That makes it unusable in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. -- Alexf(talk) 17:12, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Film sub-stubs

Hallo, while stub-sorting I found The Quitter (1929 film) which led me to this multi-article AfD which led me to look at the creating editor's talk page and some of their earlier creations. I see that you deleted Draft:Man Against Woman and Draft:Speed Mad as "hoax", although both are findable on TCMdb and IMDB. Why did you think them hoaxes, and how many other similar articles did you delete on the same grounds? There is a strong suggestion at the AfD that the articles should be made into Drafts, but does this mean that an editor is then likely to swoop down and delete them all? PamD 07:09, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

OK. My bad. Now restored. I had not seen IMDB. It was more on the vein of the particular editor. Feel free to work on them. -- Alexf(talk) 10:43, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Username block

I notice that you blocked Lakhuria, who has since been unblocked. Although I certainly understand your concern about a COI (and, for that reason, it's not such a good idea to use a place name as one's username), I'm not sure the name violates WP:IU; FWIW, they seem to be editing in good faith. Please remember WP:BITE. Thanks and all the best, Miniapolis 14:09, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Not BITE at all. It matched the name of the town/village, (as in Village Council - my thought at the time). The block was a soft block, asking them to change their name as it denotes a group. I do not see an issue with them changing their user name. If the user shows it is only one individual and their edits are in good faith, I am ok with that. -- Alexf(talk) 16:54, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

FYI

I noticed your recent block of 72.198.49.108. Just so you know user:Foleo, whose edits closely mirror those of the IP and is indefinitely blocked, is most likely 72.198.49.108.

And user:Foleo just submitted a UTRS to be unblocked.[1] I hardly think this is a coincidence. --Kansas Bear (talk) 17:56, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Not sure. Both long time blocks. Let UTRS do what they have to do. -- Alexf(talk) 18:03, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, The page of the actor that you have deleted Ahad Raza Mir, had got major time in programmes and so I think it is eligible to create the page. Would you oppose creation? SahabAliwadia 15:22, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

I have no issues as long as notability is shown through reliable sources. Please note that it has been discussed and deleted before and make sure to see the reasons why it was deleted. Also check to see it is not too soon. -- Alexf(talk) 15:29, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Ichraq Qamar article

Hey I don't know what is the problem in this article and this account is running by Ichraq Qamar And Her Team to bring the real contents and we created that article to show all the people her career and to be known easy. --IchraqQamar (talk) 11:31, 24 August 2017 (UTC)Ameen(Admin) IchraqQamar (talk) 11:31, 24 August 2017 (UTC) Ichraq Qamar Team

It is promotional and a conflict of interest. -- Alexf(talk) 11:34, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

Iván Balliu

Hi there ALEX, from Portugal,

usually, the footy community does not write TWO nationalities in a given player's introduction. We either write "...is a footballer who plays for..." or (in Mr. Balliu's case) "...is an Albanian footballer who plays for..." (last nation represented, Albania after he changed allegiance).

Attentively, sorry for any inconvenience --Quite A Character (talk) 20:31, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

Ok. -- Alexf(talk) 20:40, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

Any IPs like this one being used by the Derp vandal should be blocked for a year as an open proxy per User:KrakatoaKatie. Home Lander (talk) 22:41, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

Jeez, third time's the charm I guess. I twice put "{}" instead of "[]" around Katie's username and broke up your whole page, plus spawned 32 mentions that I didn't want to. Home Lander (talk) 22:45, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

IP account block and VRTS ticket # 2017083110019573

Alex,

I am an OTRS agent with an unblock request, per the ticket number above. If you are not able to access the OTRS system, please advise and I will forward you the message directly. Thanks! KDS4444 (talk) 19:30, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

@KDS4444: I am not in OTRS. Please forward. -- Alexf(talk) 19:42, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
@KDS4444: Unblock requests aren't generally handled via OTRS. Anyone requesting one should be directed to make the appeal via their user talk page. If they are blocked from editing their talk page, or if there is private information involved, they should be directed to WP:UTRS which is specifically set up to handle such requests and to which all admins have access. There's a template for this here.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:59, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
@Ponyo: Thanks Ponyo. As stated I do not use nor have access to OTRS/UTRS. If anyone needs my input on a pending issue, or unblock request, I would need to know more about who and what. I am not registered for UTRS at this time. Any UTRS Admin can handle it, or can ask me if they need clarification (privately, or publicly here). -- Alexf(talk) 20:10, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi Alexf, a while ago WP:OAuth was extended to UTRS, which means that you are automatically recognized as an admin at UTRS and don't need to have an account to review the cases there if you're ever so inclined. Just click this link, then the link for the English Wikipedia, then "allow". Easy peasy :) --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:16, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
I have notified the user to submit an unblock request via UTRS. KDS4444 (talk) 20:23, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
