Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Addhoc 16:01, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Satanism/Templates edit

If you can justify copyright use for the Baphomet, I have no problem with you making that edit. I've already made the initial edits to the Satanism template to begin cleaning it up (primarily removed all the organizations that do not belong and added books/persons of relevance). Review this at your leisure; if you want this to stick, I strongly recommend cooperation to police it and make sure it does. It can be justified, it just takes work to do so.

We'll probably also want to start wading through the morass of the article on Satanism itself shortly, in the next week or so. I'd highly appreciate your support in doing this, since it is a shameful article, as I'm sure you agree. I have no problem with treating this article entirely objectively, but we will have to use friendly cooperation on a large scale to really make it happen. -Lvthn13 01:45, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also note that I went ahead and changed the LaVeyan Satanism template (per our agreement), I may rename it something more "CoS-centric" later after I've thought about it. For now, I hope you are satisfied with the compromise of cooperation on the Satanism template. -Lvthn13 01:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edits looks fine to me, I won't contest them in that context (though I may try to rework a lot of the article itself since even that one is not so great, it's been on my "to do" list for a while). I've started redirecting pages to Satanism but for some reason LaVeyan Satanism does not redirect even though the article itself doens't exist in the edit mode. Strange, maybe it will catch up. -Lvthn13 02:59, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've placed notices in the old discussion page for LaVeyan Satanism, and also in the discussion page for Anton LaVey, notifying interested editors that things are changing for the better. Hopefully, this will smooth the transition and bring in additional sensible editors who have contributed there to continue work on the new article, and the entire series. -Lvthn13 06:10, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article for Satanism is now protected against anonymous edits and edits by new users, meaning no more random passer-bys starting edit wars like we had. This will make progressing on actually cleaning up the page much easier and curb much of the vandalism. -Lvthn13 22:48, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, the page was fully locked until the issues are resolved. You may consider chiming in on the Talk:Satanism page to help resolve this dispute so the article is put back on track instead of sidetracked by people with an essentially Christian propaganda perspective. I've handled it as best I can for now. -Lvthn13 01:10, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reverting Satanism to old version edit

Absinthe999 I'm on you like stank on shit, and the only difference between our agendas is I only smell like shit.Rev. Michael S. Margolin 23:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please discuss on talk page. You have not posted on the talk page since September. There is a new set of editors and a new consensus. If you do not engage in construtive discussion, you'll be reverted. You are removing all the recent work of current editors and are thus in the wrong. Tunnels of Set 00:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please note that I'm pretty much a neutral party in all this, and will do my best to help mediate a solution that's acceptable to all. While I am interested in Satanism from the standpoint of wanting Wikipedia to fairly represent it, I don't consider myself a Satanist, though I do follow the left-hand path. My interests, as you might guess from my user name, are mostly in the area of east/west LHP blends such as espoused by Kenneth Grant. Thought it would be useful for you to know where I am coming from... Tunnels of Set 16:14, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copy & paste move edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Diane LaVey and pasted it into Diane Hegarty. This is what we call a "cut and paste move," and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Orphaned non-free image (File:Karla foxnews.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Karla foxnews.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 21:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Karla foxnews.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Karla foxnews.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 19:20, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
