Request reason:

I can't even create an account because everytime I try to an error message saying that more than 6 users in the last 24 hours have already created one. With more than 300,000 web surfers blocked at once, is it not highly probable that the number of people from the whole of Singapore signing up to such a popular website? Please do not punish the rest of 299,999 of us for just one or two people's misdeeds!

Request reason:

This block leads to massive collateral damage. You would say that the common-sense solution is to create an account, but I cannot do so for personal reasons that cannot be disclosed. There may or may not be other such users among the users of this IP address. In conclusion, I request for this IP address to be unblocked.

Decline reason:

The block is preventing vandalism, please make an account if at all possible. Take a look at Wikipedia:Advice to AOL users for some advice. Will shorten block, however. -- Natalya 15:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are not accomplishing anything edit

You are not hurting Microsoft in any way with your repeated vandalism. You are just making a lot of work for the volunteers who try to maintain Wikipedia. Fan-1967 14:05, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're not letting people know anything. You're just wasting people's time. You could try to come up with constructive, well-researched facts, but I guess that's not as much fun as just putting dollar signs into the name. Fan-1967 14:14, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, I've been blocked. I'll be back tomorrow night. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that millions read daily. It should at least try to inform users so they don't get cheated.

Signed, the cousin of the poster on the Village Pump Misc they didn't believe.

You haven't "informed" anybody of anything. Replacing "s" with "$" doesn't "inform". Since none of your edits stay in place longer than a minute, you're just wasting time for everyone. Fan-1967 14:30, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

If people see all the dollar signs they will know Wikipedia is no fan of Microsoft's evil methods of making money by cheating others with inferior software and destroying competitors.

If you are one of the people who actually writes Wikipedia, I suggest you add information to the Microsoft article, about how they have cheated people. I know many people have their edits reverted quickly, so I'm not going to bother spending lots of time on edits which will be reverted quickly. My method is fast and effecient - it just takes me a few minutes, and by hitting 20 pages, by the time someone reverts everything, there'll be some passing readers who will see my work and see how Microsoft cheats people.

I'm going to check with SingNet whether they offer shared IPs - if so, I'll sign up for an account with them. I have a friend who uses AOL who would be interested in helping me with this. Perhaps if we have 10 ISPs which use dynamic IPs or IPs shared by thousands of people, and we keep doing this, anonymous editing will have to be completely prohibited. I once edited constructively with an account, and I know everything that's going wrong with Wikipedia - including allowing anonymous editing. If doing this will help you and other Wikipedians open their eyes to the problems here, I will stop.

Signed, the cousin of the poster on the Village Pump Misc they didn't believe.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.156.6.54 (talkcontribs)

  • Wikipedia is not a soapbox. Its purpose is to explain subjects in an encyclopedic fashion, and it is to not have any agendas past that. If you wish to add criticsm to Microsoft's page, consider discussing it with other editors first. A better idea, however, is to contribute to the Criticism of Microsoft page. It already contains much information about Microsoft's poor buisness practices, and you might be able to make some valuable contributions there. –Gunslinger47 04:29, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I just had a look at the Criticism of Microsoft article. It's good. If more of that information were in the Microsoft article, I would not complain. But the Microsoft article contains too little information to help keep users from being cheated by Microsoft, and it's pushed down to the bottom of the article. You need to make the Criticism section longer, and take more information from the good Criticism of Microsoft article, and make sure it's not near the end of the article. I was away for a few days, then I just got AOL, and my cousin has a shared IP offered by SingNet, so I'll be back. --218.186.9.1 10:32, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning if you did not make any unconstructive edits. Ryūlóng 07:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you blank or remove material from a page, as you did to Patriotism, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please don't remove referencing or citations. [1] Gimmetrow 08:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is insane edit

There are 300,000 people on this IP? Man, you guys gotta be real careful about getting banned from places. This IP is more fragile than a Ming dynasty vase on a spider-web floor soaked in Teflon. FloaterFluss (talk) (contribs) 02:27, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ehhm no edits since August 27, 2006. Michaelas10 (Talk) 18:27, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Weird. Looks like I've been having some bad luck; while I was on this IP address I was pounding the keyboard in frustration at getting blocked practically every few days or so, but the insanity suddenly stopped once I transferred to my current IP for unknown reasons. And the red screen of death has practically disappeared from my sight nowadays. --218.186.9.3 08:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
So it's being used by hundreds of thousands of people, and then by no one? Very odd. No edits since 8/2006, as stated above. Enigma message Review 07:05, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not odd at all. Presumably, the ISP switched to a different IP. —Lowellian (reply) 18:45, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I wonder how this was implemented. A typical NAT that changes the address and the port is not enough for 300k users. Port number only gives you 2^16 max connections.--Neo139 (talk) 19:09, 15 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Orita.Sinclair School of Art and New Media edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Orita.Sinclair School of Art and New Media. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Orita.Sinclair School of Art and New Media. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:29, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Zuraidah Ibrahim edit

You may also wish to consider using the the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zuraidah Ibrahim requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. XinJeisan (talk) 15:51, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Olinda Cho edit

The article Olinda Cho has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
