Reply edit

I've replied on my talk page. Thanks for the note. It is interesting to see the different ways in which people start their wiki-careers! If you want a list of your deleted edits, let me know. I think Help-pigs! with "????? Help???? what is this??? is this?" (from 15 December 2006) is a classic first attempt at seeing if this "anyone can edit" thing is really true. :-) Carcharoth (talk) 02:32, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yardman edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Yardman, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.damagedgoods.co.uk/yardman/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Settlements edit

Hi thanks. Yes to put things in perspective this towship of Burma I am working on is one of 18 townships in Kachin State. There are 14 states/divisions of Burma. So you see how massive the missing real world content is. As for Africa, well don't even get me started. Potentially there are around 2.2 million settlements which could have decent articles alone but the problem is unevne access to knowledge of many of these places. I see it as an important step towards counteracting systematic bias and will continue to make district templates and start getting locations onto here ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bes thing you could do is google it at falling rain website where it has info on nearest settlements by nautical miles distance. This helps geographically and fill in an understanding of location. E.g Nearby towns and villages include. Unfortunately though because of political reasons the web content on Burma is extrmeely limited. I remain optimistic that some time in the future more info will become available in the developing parts of the world for the world to see and read! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:17, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am not a sockpuppet of Sunholm, and nor is Kelsington. The blocking admin was failing to assume good faith.

Decline reason:

Yeah, I know: piggybacking, someone's somebody's boy/girlfriend, IP is secure now, blah, blah. We've heard such stories enough from you. And if the IP is secure now, how come that it was used to vandalise another wiki TODAY? Looks like nobody's gonna believe you this time. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 20:35, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. • Just to put my side of the story across, requesting unprotection of Family Guy was to allow the IPs to edit (weren't a lot of us IPs once??), and as for the mediawiki thing, well, it was just a suggestion. I am not a sockpuppet, some may thing I was solicited here as a meat puppet, but fair enough, that's your opinion. But in truth, my edits were dull, if nothing to see. I want to edit peacefully, and no-one wants a "wiki-drama". Ta, --1qx (talk) 20:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also note the love of templates that all these accounts have shared. Metros (talk) 20:23, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • It's a customised userbox, not a template. I am explicitly not a sockpuppet of anyone. I am trying to remain civil here. If I could walk away and wipe the slate clean, then I would, but please don't accuse me of being someone I'm not. As it is, me and my boyfriend have tag-teamed here, but certainly not under multiple accounts - we are not here for anything to break rules or that. I think I've made my point without making a WP:POINT. Ta, --1qx (talk) 20:27, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

But I have not vandalised today. And as for it vandalising another wiki, well, that's our personal wiki, and the content was not vandalism. We can do what we want to on that one. Our IP address is secure now, and has been for the past few weeks. This is the truth. I only want to edit constructively.

Decline reason:

The "truth"(tm) vs. checkuser. I choose the latter, Sunholm. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 20:43, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am explicitly not Sunholm, really. I am a different individual. And if any admins read this, well, I have directed the vandals to our wiki instead - please inform them of that. Anyone wishing to discuss this off-wiki, here is my email - 1qx mail.com --1qx (talk) 20:46, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Little context in ViewSourceWith edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on ViewSourceWith, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because ViewSourceWith is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting ViewSourceWith, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Proposed deletion of Yardman edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Yardman, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No external sources. Tagged for notability since June 2008.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
