Hillary Schieve, born October 12th, 1970, is the 28th mayor of Reno, Nevada. She was elected on November 4th, 2014, being sworn in officially on November 12th, 2014. Prior to being mayor, Hillary was elected as an At-Large Reno City Council member on November 6th, 2012. Hillary was re-elected in November of 2018, beating Eddie Lorton again 65-35%. (57,580-31,684 votes) Her campaign was aimed at tackling problems such as the deteriorating downtown area of Reno, homelessness, housing, addiction, and the debt agenda. She brought entrepreneurial experience as an employer and local business owner to office, having interest in creating jobs and eliminating the bureaucratic red tape. Key issues in Reno that she addressed were economic growth, public safety, regional cooperation, and senior services. She was named in Politico Magazine's "America's 11 Most Interesting Mayors" due to her drive to reinvent and revitalize Reno.

Harry Kim is the current mayor of Hawai'i County His home in Vacationland was destroyed by lava during the 2018 flow from the East Rift Zone.

Georgia

Forest Park

Angelyne Butler is the mayor of Forest Park, Georgia. She is their 24th mayor. She is also the first female African American mayor of Forest Park. Mayor Butler was born on February 7, 1980. She obtained her Bachelors in Political Science from Spelman College in 2007 and went on to receive her Master's in Public Administration from Troy University in 2009.

In July 2018 Mayor Butler vetoed a pay raise for herself and council members, "she felt it would be 'inappropriate to move forward with a pay increase for Mayor and Council until a comprehensive job classification study is commissioned, complete, all recommendations are considered and executed to make sure the salaries of the employees of Forest Park are in line with the salaries of those to similar-sized cities in Georgia.' "

Zephyrhills

Gene Whitfield is the current mayor of Zephyrhills. Before serving as mayor, he was a member of the Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce for 26 years and served as its director for an additional 6. As of the most recent election, Whitfield was unopposed and was successful in securing another term. In 2014 Whitfield offered former President George H.W. Bush a free skydive to celebrate the President's tandem jump on his 90th birthday. According to Whitfield, Zephyrhills is a world-renowned skydiving location, and its history as a World War II training facility would suit the former President well. Zephyrhills has a vested interest in aviation, with the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport contributing greatly to the local economy. On April 9th, 2018, Gene Whitfield declared April as Zephyrhill's General Aviation Appreciation Month.
