I have a BA in History from the University of Alaska Anchorage and currently work for a Big Ten university, though in IT rather than academics. I’ve found Wikipedia a good starting tool for a wide variety of research interests. My main projects here have been adding stub type Civil War era units pages in an attempt to encourage both consistency in page layout and as a framework for more detailed articles by those who know more than I do about the particular subject. I was inspired to do this while researching some ancestors who participated in the Civil War.
My main areas of expertise is in military history, particularly the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars and the American Civil War, though I am very much a generalist.
