I've left the project. This is for three reasons:
1. I was spending too much time that I couldn't really spare on it; 2. Too much of that time was being taken up defending my earlier contributions against vandalism and edit creep; and 3. Most of the rest of it was being wasted arguing with people who, it turned out, were more interested in scoring points and showing off than in reading and responding to what was said to them.
I still think the wikipedia project is workable, and that much of what it produces is valuable; there are many interesting and thoughtful people involved in it; but I can't justify spending any more time on it myself.
