Dosser is an American rock band from Baltimore, Maryland. They are currently signed to Really Rad Records.[1] They released their debut EP Brainscan on January 20th, 2021[2] and will release their first full-length album Violent Picture / Violent Sound January 20th, 2023.

Dosser began in 2018, Bret and Max's band, Bested, had played local shows around Baltimore with William's band, Graver, and the three bonded over their similar taste in music. After performing at a bar in Fredrick, Maryland called Guido's the trio realized they needed a bassist and reached out to Eric Dudley of Leveless and whenskiesaregray.[3] William attributes choosing the name "Dosser" to watching too much British television and picking up on the unique slang.[4] Similarly the name of their 2021 EP, Brainscan, was adopted from a 90's horror film of the same name.[5] The band got their first big break when asked to tour with local Baltimore rock band Pianos Become the Teeth in the lead up to Dosser's new album Violent Picture Violent Sound in 2023.[6][7]
Musical Style edit
Dosser attributes their sound to their mutual love for 90's indie and alternative bands like Sparklehorse, Hum, and Failure as well as more contemporary acts like Big Bite, Slow Pulp, and Webbed Wing.[8] Their sound has been described as, "cut from the punchy, punky power pop cloth of bands like Dinosaur Jr, Superchunk, and Sugar."[9] Their sound is characterized by heavily distorted, guitar focused hooks and driving drum beats.
