The Society for the Recognition of the Universal Brotherhood of Man (SRBM) was formed in 1893 by Catherine Impey and Ida B. Wells to combat racism.

The society was known by a variety of names, including the Society for the Furtherance of the Brotherhood of Man, the Society for the Recognition of the Universal Brotherhood of Man, the Society for the Recognition of the Brotherhood of Man, or more simply as The Brotherhood Society.[1]: 83 (note 14)

The official house organ was Bond of Brotherhod, edited by William Evans Darby, who was second secretary of the SRBM. It was published monthly, starting in November 1894, with the last known issue being December 1895.[1]: 87 (note 77)  The masthead included the biblical quotation "God hath made of one blood all nations of men".[2][3]
