Lonwabo Kosi (Born 21 January) Commonly known as Lo Squared (Pronounced as "Low") is a South African Sound Engineer, Record Producer, Disc Jockey, Mixing / Mastering Engineer and Voice Over Artist, Who also does Remixes. Born in Chris Hani Baragwanath[1] Hospital in Soweto, South of Johannesburg.

Career edit

Lo Squared is following his grandfathers Footsteps in making music and Being all about at hustle. Lo Squared Started his Djing career late 2010 and found his niche in Djing at a tender age while at School and always imagining himself behind the microphone doing Radio Shows and Spinning the disc alongside prominent Disc Jockeys in the business as a form of entertaining people. He Studied Sound Engineering at City Varsity from 2011 and with his impeccable and Vast Talents in his career, he started making House music in 2013 as ways to venture into more production than just being seen behind the decks. Then in no-time he started producing Hip Hop and a little of Drum & Bass.

Music Productions edit

Lo Squared started doing bootleg remixes and formed a production Duo called ANGER OF STICK-MEN[2], With his close friend Mulalo Mapholi. The duo went on to create 4 songs even though its core objectives were to make a certain type of Electronic Music, Something along the lines of french Duo Daft Punk. Mulalo aka Milo and Lo Squared met in 2011 at City Varsity, their agreement was simple. Lo taught Milo how to DJ, and Milo taught Lo how to make better music in general, As Milo was years ahead in terms of producing music. Unfortunately the duo has not released or worked on anything in the last four years, But Lo Squared does not want to rule out the possibilities of the two working on a project in the near future.

Lo Squared Isolated himself from the scene for the whole 2014 to 2016 with a plan of resurfacing with fresh Innovative Ideas for his Music productions and DJing

career. Even though He has not released his highly anticipated Movement Pieces EP . He now has countless loads of music waiting to be released through some well thought Collaborations with other Bubbling Under and Prominent Musicians.

Then in 2016 Lo Squared was asked to do a remix of a song which was produced by his High School mate, Chris Carter. Who produced a song titled Touch Of Madness featuring Sabrina Johnson late 2015. The Song received a decent response within the House community which prompted more producers wanting to remix the piece of Art. This then forced Chris Carter to release a Remix Package featuring 5 producers and Lo Squared was one of them. This then meant that it was Lo Squared's first Legal Remix. He produced a Tech-ish Afro Soul Remix titled Touch Of Madness - Chris Carter Ft Sabrina Johnson ( Lo Squared Remix)

Early 2017, Lo got his first real Hip Hop Collaboration with Profound[3] when he produced, Mixed and Mastered a song titled Know It [4] . That song sparked a great relationship between the two, and both artists made agreements to create more music in the future. Currently Lo Squared and Profound[5] have recorded 3 songs together and they have planned to release a project by January 2020.

The Movement edit

Why does he call himself "The Movement"? Well, Lo Squared has a mix series called the Movement Mix, in which he only playlists Music that is produced in South Africa. Music that is hard to find and That most radio stations miss or don't playlist often because most Local producers are not signed by any major recording labels, that's why their content is not play listed. This genre of music is different from any other genre, you don't need to dance, you can just be in your zone and enjoy the music. The Movement doesn't have a specific audience, anyone who loves listening to music will surely fall in-love with the sound.
