Overview edit

This is the user page for Isaiah Jackson. After 40 years as a professional conductor, I now focus on teaching, both privately and at the collegiate, graduate, and post-doctoral levels. Following the excellent example of Dr. Wayne Marshall, I too am interested in making Wikipedia a better place to read (and write), especially about music-related topics.

In Spring 2020, I offer the latest incarnation of my course, A Vision of Music's Future, at Berklee College of Music. Originally invited to design and teach such a course at Harvard Extension School, I've also offered The Future of Classical Music at Longy School of Music of Bard College. Inspired by Dr. Marshall and his students, our classes devote an important share of the class work to making edits and adding articles to Wikipedia around the vast subject of music's future, broadly interpreted. The Berklee College class has its own userpage for tracking our collective contributions. The Longy School user page can be found here.

At Berklee College of Music, I also teach conducting and music history.
