List of commercial failures in video gamingEdit

So I was reading your WP:VG interview and decided to submit one of the articles you mentioned to reddit. It caused quite the traffic increase. JACOPLANE • 2011-04-7 21:17

FP nom inquiryEdit

Hi GamerPro64, about your inquiry here, I think it's worth nominating. A WebM version should be uploaded though, either before or after nomination. I figure WebM is accessible on more devices, but I am no expert on that. FYI, FPC participation is low these days, so there is no guaranty this or any nom gets 5 supports. Cheers. Bammesk (talk) 02:24, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi, just to let you know, since you didn't nominate the video, I decided to do it. I hope you don't mind, and thanks for pointing it out on the FPC talk page. Bammesk (talk) 15:10, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello GamerPro. FOr a while now I have been working hard editing and expanding the article for the character Leatherface, via a separate userspace draft. Anyways I have my eyes set on changing the image used in the infobox in the original article to one I feel is the best and most striking featuring the character. Unfortunately I have only seen a black and white version of this image and was wondering if you could help me find a color version of the image. If not that is okay just wanted to see if I could get additional help. Paleface Jack (talk) 19:40, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

What image? GamerPro64 02:04, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
Its a full image of the original Leatherface. So far I have only seen it in black and white, and its difficult finding a colored version of it. No other image I have found has been as striking or iconic as this one cause of how well done it is. One of the sites that you can see this image is here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BltDLpeBm7s/Tp9o1Cjn1HI/AAAAAAAAALw/P4jo6D9ZtdA/s1600/Leatherface.jpg Paleface Jack (talk) 17:28, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

@GamerPro64: Sorry for the late reply. Been sort of busy with life so have not been as active on here. Anyways my previous reply is just one of several sites that has the black and white version of the image I am set on using. Anyways happy editing mate!--Paleface Jack (talk) 19:25, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Featured picture scheduled for POTDEdit

Hi GamerPro64,

This is to let you know that File:Nanook of the North.webm, a featured picture you nominated, has been selected as the English Wikipedia's picture of the day (POTD) for December 20, 2022. A preview of the POTD is displayed below and can be edited at Template:POTD/2022-12-20. If you have any concerns, please place a message at Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day. Thank you! Nanook of the North is a 1922 American silent film that combines elements of documentary and docudrama, at a time when the concept of separating films into documentary and drama did not yet exist. In the tradition of what would later be called salvage ethnography, the film follows the struggles of the Inuk man named Nanook and his family in the Canadian Arctic. It is written and directed by Robert J. Flaherty, who also served as cinematographer, editor, and producer.

Some have criticized Flaherty for staging several sequences, but the film is generally viewed as standing "alone in its stark regard for the courage and ingenuity of its heroes". It was the first feature-length documentary to achieve commercial success, proving the financial viability of the genre and inspiring many films to come.

In 1989, Nanook of the North was among the first group of 25 films selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Director: Robert J. Flaherty
