Wiki-karma is also karma, it counts! edit

Namaste!

Most of us believe, that due to internet anonymity, our wiki-actions or 'wiki-karma', have no consequences or do not reflect upon how we are and behave in real life, however they do so abundantly.

Seven Deadly Sins

"Wealth without work
Pleasure without conscience
Science without humanity
Knowledge without character
Politics without principle
Commerce without morality
Worship without sacrifice."

- Mahatma Gandhi

That is why, just as in real life, a good wikipedian is the one, who is a good human being as well, and practices civility. None of whose 'wiki karma', actions, show of lack compassion no matter how justified, otherwise we fail no matter how good wikipedia reads externally to the world, because we have failed as a human being. History tells us knowledge without compassion is not just dangerous but also disastrous; so is power without sense of service and above all humility. And what we sow here we shall also reap, both here and in real life. Nothing is more permanent than our actions, wiki actions can be reverted, but the karma they create cannot be, may we act with this knowledge, everyday! Even if no one notices, our soul and page history does.

Knowing this, may our actions be mindful and follow the Golden rule wherever we can, after if we do not learn this during our lifetime, have we learnt anything? Also when I do something "good" knowingly I stay trapped in the cycle of karma, so it is much wiser to ensure our actions remain selfless, are inspired rather than ambitious.

What I prefer edit

Good karma makes for good memories..

I am not interested in literature, language, or culture of any specific region, state or nation per se, rather in what is good in all of them individually and collectively, as they represent humanity for us all, and that's what every literature deems to express.

So if it talks of humanity and wonder that life is, then I am all interested, otherwise experts only bore with their myopic or shall we say joyless vision of the world. Because in the end opinions are just viewpoints, and can end up becoming our self-created barriers.

The true mark of a transformed and empowered person is how much they can accept rather than reject! Knowing this, I'd rather be careful about taking it all too seriously, knowing that in the end it is only a transient and recreational universe or leela, we are in, and so let's all play while we are here. As that is the purpose and aim of every life. To learn while we are on the playground called life is what makes this earth school so much fun, and what fun is a school if it is not play as well, without a doubt our best times learning of our life have been spent in a play-school so why not drop out serious/gloomy hats and have some fun while we are at it?! May we all play along on this journey, till the last breath!

That being said, I am here to enrich myself, as the world offers so much avenues to do so, and this I believe is one of them...So if you are here to become a better human being, you are welcome to engage here, but if you are here to become an expert, spare me your company as you'd only want to teach me, not be my company! We learn through inspiration more than with instruction. So let's be open, and clear in our intents in our being here, and here on this planet!

I am here to be inspired! And hope life offers you inspiration in abundance so that you may them shared your inspired life and its gifts with those around you, in the end may be become an inspired species, and planet perhaps.

Beliefs edit

As within, so without. Life is a mirror image of our self. To fight the the image - situations and people is useless, instead it is better to change ourselves, and the image will change on its own, it is to bring our focus within for that where your power lies!
Be willing to find our dark side, so that the true self can shine from within, thereafter! Be still.
Practice being quiet for while everyday, and allow our true self to express!
We'd be surprised in what we'd find within, what people travel a thousand miles to discover, life is a holy pilgrimage.

May we NEVER forget the Kalachakra - the Wheel of time, and make all our choices knowing that what goes up, also comes down, and what goes around comes around. When it is our karmic upturn may we remain like a humble like a reed or bamboo - Supple, yet strong! So that when the downturn comes we would know how to handle it, plus we will have shorter down turns, as we would have made our choices knowingly!

Life is about beliefs, put into behaviour, and not beliefs per se, because, true 'spiritual' life is, a life that allows 'spirit' into action, thoughts and deeds. We are creating the masterpiece of our lives one stroke, one choice at a time, so lets make sure it is something we'd enjoy watching for a long time to come, and especially once the show is over! Otherwise it is all talk, and talks don't change life, only inspiration does, and commitment and courage to change our lives for the better, and not just a wish. What do you believe in, ask yourself, is it love or is it hate? What do you do more love or hate, so that would be your life's expression, hateful or love-filled, the choice in the end always remains ours in every situation, no matter what, just as love or to hate is an endemic choice for all of us face one time of another in life, and repeatedly till we learn to choose love, and this could go on lifetime after after lifetime, after all Gods time is eternity!

"Spirit is as spirit does." The truth is not that we are divine beings but how much of that divinity so we allow to be expressed through our everyday life and its varied choices. So, the more divinity we allow into the physical life, the more spiritual being we become, so does our life, and what is divinity if not the presence Love and its Light, shining through each one of our actions, choices or thoughts!

Have a good day and yes life! Love 'n Light

PS: Questions to ponder over EVERYDAY! ..." Who am I? Where do I want my life to go today? ...am I enjoying this day, this moment?" :)

Interests edit

My main interest at wiki is human history, of human beings who have surpassed their circumstances and create something new out of themselves, I am always looking for such inspiring people, and what better way to work on their biographies.

On the side, I like exploring Indian cinema, especially from its golden era, 50s-70s, and the Indian art cinema, a oft neglected genre, by many. I believe, who would make the future generation proud about who we were, if not us. It is our responsibly to leave behind roots deep enough, to help the coming generations, stand tall enough without having to fear being swept off by winds, of turbulence and chaos, their lives will inevitably bring to them, so that they grow stronger not weaker, better not bitter, from their life experiences, and always have people to look up to, who have gone much tougher times, and not just survived but triumphed.

Above all I am inspired by the tremendous human spirit, that we have harboured, after all the spark divine, lies within us all. And needless to say, God is suffice. May we always remember that, even when we don't feel it to be true, especially during those moments! That we are indeed loved and taken care of, and blessed; after all we are but part of all that we came from! And no matter how far we might go away from the light, the journey back home begins with silent prayer flung up towards the heavens.

The divine architect moulds us all, has His own designs for us and our lives, but then we want to layer it with our own, that is when we stuck in crazy design phase, but then we can always peel off the add-ons to reveal the original Master plans within..the organic architecture of our life! What if each moment we could live as God would, wouldn't that be a perfect day! :)

Nations needs builders, so does wikipedia. I love to help first time article creators, by helping them and their efforts as much as I can! When they feel encouraged, welcomed and nurtured, they would stay on, thus shall increase the lot of wikipedians! :)

Starry Night Over the Rhone, Vincent Van Gogh, so befitting to the song Starry Starry Night, and it reminds of my grandparents hometown, Nainital
  • On the seashore of endless worlds children meet...

On the seashore of endless worlds children meet. The infinite sky is motionless overhead and the restless water is boisterous. On the seashore of endless worlds the children meet with shouts and dances.

They build their houses with sand and they play with empty shells. With withered leaves they weave their boats and smilingly float them on the vast deep. Children have their play on the seashore of worlds.

They know not how to swim, they know not how to cast nets. Pearl fishers dive for pearls, merchants sail in their ships, while children gather pebbles and scatter them again. they seek not for hidden treasures, they know not how to cast nets.

The sea surges up with laughter and pale gleams the smile of the sea beach. Death-dealing waves sing meaningless ballads to the children, even like a mother while rocking her baby's cradle. The sea plays with children, and pale gleams the smile of the sea beach.

On the seashore of endless worlds children meet. Tempest roams in the pathless sky, ships get wrecked in the trackless water, death is abroad and children play. On the seashore of endless worlds is the great meeting of children.

  • "There's no courage", The Prophet said, "before the war has begun..

Drunkards vaunt their bravery when you speak of war.
But in the blaze of battle they scatter like mice..
I'm astonished by the man who wants purity
And yet trembles when the harshness of polishing begin...
When a man beats a carpet again and again
It's not the carpet he's attacking, but the dirt in it."

  • "When intelligence matures and lodges securely in the heart, it becomes wisdom. When that wisdom is integrated with life and issues out in action, it becomes devotion. Knowledge which has become mature is spoken of as devotion. If it does not get transformed into devotion, such knowledge is useless tinsel."

Dream wiki edit

Imagine the day when Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., or Nelson Mandela would become distant memories, perhaps so distant that human beings would stop believing in such higher possibilities in human beings, as that has what happened to Rama, Jesus, Buddha, and Krishna. While some turn them into Gods and the rest into fiction, forgetting that they were also born as human beings, just as we have. So we have the onus of taking the human possibility to a much greater high, they have already shown the way through their biographies, more than their words.

This is one of the reason I love reading and working on biographies, especially what went into the making of the persona that later became famous for what they stood for and what they inspired in others as that truly is the mark of a person!

Lest we forget.

What I love edit

Fushimi Inari Taisha the head shrine of Inari, located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Japan

I like to explore the ancient Indian history and its vast wealth of wisdom, especially that connected with Hinduism, as it is in danger to turning into a myth, for our present generation and hence for the future.

When Ram stops being a historic king, and becomes merely a character in an epic or a literary figure, we stop believing in the possibility of a human being possessing such qualities, and thus a possibility of living his ideals, because if his ideals become a myth, so will the Ram. Then we just might turn him to a God, rather than viewing him as human being with divine qualities, hence revered across the Indian subcontinent.

When we turn human beings into God, we usually try to distance ourselves from them, so that no one can hold us to those standards, then we might fight over them, but never try to emulate them in our everyday lives. We might quote them often, but seldom live as they did. That is when we start fighting over Ram, Buddha, or Jesus or Mohammad, over temples, churches and mosques we have built in their names, and the book we call holy, but seldom follow them ourselves, but expect the world to. Instead of seeking their divinity let's first seek their humanity, as that would be a good start, for all of us.

So, let us keep Ram a living example for us for if Ram dies, so does the possibility of us transcending our human existence and reaching out for touch and embrace our own divinity. His living memory, is the tradition of human possibilities. That is what GoswamiTulsidas presents to us in his epic Ramacharitamanas, the charitr (persona) of Ram as a manas (human being), because he wanted to show the people of his times, the possibility of living the life befitting the divine, within each on us.

Last word: Too much of a good thing is also...bad

What is the Shadow? edit

"It is only when we have the courage to face things exactly as they are without any self-deception or illusion that a light will develop out of which the path to success will be recognized." — I Ching - Debbie Ford - The Shadow Effect
