I don't subscribe to left-right political dichotomies but found this chart to plot one's political compass over a decade ago. It's interesting/fun enough for what it is.

Economic left/right: –3.88
Social libertarian/authoritarian: –0.56
This puts me just inside the libertarian left. This means I'll pay taxes for social programs but complain about vagrants, and believe the government has no right to arrest me if I shoot heroin but should execute me if I shoot a person.

Economic Left/Right: -4.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.38
In six years I've moved slightly more left in economic terms. During that time (2006-2013) there was a shitload of corporate evil ruining the world. A significant move toward the libertarian side in social terms. Not sure what that signifies, but I think they should have executed a few hedge fund managers and finance CEOs.

Economic Left/Right: -7.0
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.82
The gradual move to the economic left continues with a similar continuation towards anarchism. It appears I am now deep inside the Libertarian Left. I wonder if this puts me on the American Government's No Fly List.
