Daniel A. "Dan" Sanford (born December 2, 1998), known on Wikipedia as DannyMusicEditor (typeset dannymusiceditor), is a musician, athlete, and Wikipedian specializing in articles relating to music. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and has remained there since he was born. He has an unhealthy obsession with music that contributes to his tendency to be anti-social (though he tries his best). As of January 2019, he has over 17,500 edits on Wikipedia (ouch).
In the fourth grade, Sanford learned to play the viola in his elementary school's instrumental program. He has been involved in many youth programs related to music. Starting in the fifth grade, he began taking private lessons to improve his skill, and has taken them with four different teachers. After eight years, he still plays and practices regularly, and is currently a member of the Erie Junior Philharmonic, a precursor extension to the Erie Philharmonic for children of middle school through high school ages. He has said he would enjoy learning to play the violin and guitar at some point.
In his junior year in high school, Sanford joined his school's cross country team. Under the guidance of his five coaches, he managed to make a strong athletic debut. He joined the track and field team two months after cross country season as a distance runner so he could improve his performance on the cross country team.
Sanford is currently enrolled as a sophomore at Penn State University's Behrend College and is majoring in communications.
Outside of these groups, Sanford is an avid fan of Pittsburgh-located sports teams, especially the Steelers and the fucking Penguins. He enjoys playing videogames, especially the franchises of The Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, Battlefield, NHL, Overmeme, competitive Pokemon (with friends), and various RTS games. He enjoys the outdoors, and particularly loves hiking in the summer and hunting for turkeys in the fall. He enjoys shooting pistols, shotguns and rifles when he gets the chance to go to a range. He has an intense addiction to alternative, rock, and metal music. Subgenres that spark his interest include:
(Leaves encyclopedia narrative) There are a few genres which I have particular dislike for: Average pop, black and unblack metal, and almost all death metal and deathcore (though melodic death metal and Chelsea Grin are okay sometimes and Parkway if you consider their old stuff deathcore), crust punk, grindcore, noise rock, and true screamo (usually). I mean, when I'm feeling really experimental, I'll try listening to rap or trap, but usually only political rap or hardcore rap appeals to me. My country taste is almost exclusively Alabama, Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Billy Currington, and Brantley Gilbert. (Yeah, okay, fine, FGL too.) I also find most CCM a bit bland and fenced-in creatively. If you're looking for a genre I haven't listed, I have no feelings of really like or dislike toward it.
