My name is Michael and I was born in Redondo Beach, California in August, 1968. My father's side of the family was from Lithuania and Poland, my mother's side from Andalusia and the Canary Islands - all of whom met in Cuba. I grew up in Torrance, California and attended West High School (Torrance). After completing an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems from El Camino College I enrolled at California State University, Long Beach with a Computer Science academic major. However, real life interceded with studies upon meeting my future wife, Colleen, a Philly transplant in Hollywood, California. With her help I decided to follow a dream and together we opened a comic book store in San Pedro, California. After five years, comic book sales slowed and I accepted a position as Internet Strategist at a publicly traded mortgage bank in Costa Mesa, California. Four kids and four years after that my family was looking for a change and we decided to move to the high desert town of Apple Valley, California. We have several rescue dogs including Spotty, our Australian shepherd and Sandy, our beloved chorkie. One of our favorite pastimes is taking our dogs hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail through Big Bear, California. My family also loves to ski, snowboard and explore the Mojave Desert. A Los Angeles Laker fanatic, I enjoy the NBA and basketball in general. A Los Angeles Galaxy fan too, as well as a supporter of the U.S. men's national soccer team. I love sci-fi including Star Wars and Star Trek, cartoons, heavy metal music including such bands as Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd.
