Music: Who's Yellen Now? edit

Who's Yellen Now? is a song by Dessa, commissioned by Marketplace[1] following the suggestion by then President-elect Joe Biden for a Hamiltonesque play about Yellen as the first woman secretary of the treasury on December 1, 2020.[2][3]

With vocals and lyrics by Dessa and production by Lazerbeak and Andy Thompson Who's Yellen Now? was first released on the January 21, 2021, episode of Marketplace.[4] The 8:21 segment includes a Kai Ryssdal interview with Dessa in which she states "it was really exciting to become a fan of Janet Yellen."[5] The webpage for the segment also includes the complete lyrics of the song. The first verse of which concludes:

She’s qualified as ffff —
It only took a couple centuries
The first female secretary of the treasury
