Wilf Hall edit
Named in honor of Zygmunt "Zygi" Wilf.
Renovation in 2010, renovation designed by architect Morris Adjmi Wilf Hall is a building of approx 50,000 square feet. "Wilf Hall was the first educational building in New York City to receive USGBC’s Platinum LEED-certification." (cite: architect)
Located just off Washington Square, this new six-story structure provides much needed academic spaces for the NYU School of Law’s growing “think tank” Centers and Institutes. The design recalls the original 1830s brownstones once occupying the site by using vertical “slot” windows to divide the façade into four bays. The renowned Provincetown Playhouse, located at the southern end of the property, has been respectfully preserved, restored, and upgraded with the latest theater technologies, dignifying the site’s rich cultural history. Set back to maintain the contextual heights of other buildings in the neighborhood, the penthouse level receives abundant natural light and is covered by a green roof and outdoor terrace. Wilf Hall was the first educational building in New York City to receive USGBC’s Platinum LEED-certification.

17,500 Square feet on the North Side of Washington Square completed in 2009 by Architect Morris Adjmi Landmarked Townhouse Converted to New Academic Center
Originally built in 1830s with an addition in the 1880s, this through-lot building has been completely restored and renovated to serve the needs of the NYU School of Law. A new central courtyard brings natural light to illuminate a green wall and interior facing windows. Unlike most through-lot plans, every office here enjoys ventilation and views to either the park to the south, the greenery-draped courtyard, or the private mews to the north. The north and south facades were meticulously restored, with a portion of the north facade being rebuilt. The completed project has obtained USGBC’s Silver LEED-certification.
