Howard Albert "Hopalong" Cassady (born March 2, 1934) is a former college and professional American football running back. He was the Heisman Trophy winner of 1955 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979.

Hopalong Nunatak (81°33′S 28°45′WCoordinates: 81°33′S 28°45′W) is the westernmost and highest of the Whichaway Nunataks in Antarctica. It was first mapped in 1957 by the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition and so named to mark the work in this area of the Australian geologist of the expedition in 1956-58.[1]

Hopalong Cassidy River Trail

The Hopalong Cassidy Trail is a .5 mi; 0.8 km flat trail on the bank of the Vermilion River in Streator, Illinois. The trail is mostly gravel, with a section of cement next to the Bridge St. bridge on the north and south side of the road. The trail is part of the local flood control system. Its named after the Hopalong Cassidy western series of books written by author Clarence E. Mulford whose childhood house sits next to the trail on the south side of the road. The trail is lined with a forest of mulberry, oak and maple trees.[1]
