|“||I like to say that while antimatter may seem strange, it is strange in the sense that Belgians are strange. They are not really strange; it is just that one rarely meets them||”|

I'm a student interested in all history, but particularly focused on the Belgian variety in the 19th-20th centuries. My contributions to Wikipedia tend to be linked to my area of interest, but I also stray into other topics from time-to-time, though there tends to be some method in them somewhere.
I have created a subproject of WP:MILHIST dedicated to Belgian military history and am always looking to recruit more users!
|“||The day will come when history will speak... Africa will write its own history...it will be a history of glory and dignity.||”|
|— Patrice Lumumba|
This is something I feel strongly about. There is little doubt that Wikipedia is shaped by a general tendency to write reams about the tiniest minutiae in Western, and particularly US, history. This is perfectly understandable but we must now concentrate on remedying the core deficiencies of our project... many of which lie in African history where key topics are often still missing or of little more than stub quality. As African economies develop, Wikipedia has a real chance to become the reference source of impartial, comprehensive information on the history of the continent. An interesting article about the challenges wiki faces in Africa is available here.

For a (hopefully) balanced discussion of whether "Luxemboug", "Luxembourgish" or "Luxembourgian" is the correct adjective for Luxembourg, please see my user essay here. And feel free to update it.
