Hey folks, there is no "Montana" or "MT" parameter to add WikiProject Montana inside this template! Can someone fix this? Montanabw(talk) 23:33, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

@Montanabw: Not all states have these parameters. There was a user, since banned, who tried to force all 50 (plus DC) into this template; to see what became of the idea, check the history of Template:WikiProject United States and the archives of this talk page. In short: use {{WikiProject Montana}}. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:38, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
I do, but someone else did not, and used this template with a MT parameter, which, of course, didn't work. What's the standard for adding the parameter to the template? I don't want to "force" the project to not use its own WP-Montana template, but is there any reason the MT parameter cannot also be added here? I suspect the case I ran across is not the only one where that paremeter is inserted but not activated...? Montanabw(talk) 18:19, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
@Montanabw: Is it worth mentioning that the banner on Talk:Southern Paiute (permalink in case it gets moved) has |Nevada=yes which isn't included either in the template? Sam Sailor 17:02, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 19 January 2019Edit

Please add "East Providence" and "East Providence priority" under the city and locality projects.

Thank you JasonJD48 (talk) 19:39, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:52, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia requested maps in WashingtonEdit

I have template editor rights, but I'm a little lost looking at this template. Anyhoo, under certain circumstances, as seen on Talk:Washington cougar attack, the template populates Category:Wikipedia requested maps in Washington ( 0 ). It should populate Category:Wikipedia requested maps in Washington (state) ( 19 ). Can someone better at coding fix this and tell me what you did? --Nessie (talk) 18:52, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

  Done easy! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:31, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia requested maps of the United States GovernmentEdit

The template references Category:Wikipedia requested maps of the United States Government ( 1 ) but the category was deleted on 6 September 2017 by RHaworth. Should the template use Category:Wikipedia requested maps in the United States ( 218 ) instead or should the old category be resurrected? --Nessie (talk) 18:18, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

@NessieVL: RHaworth has an annoying habit of not checking why something has been tagged, or if the tag is valid, before deleting. I restored the page and undid this edit. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:00, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
@Redrose64: thanks for clearing it up. --Nessie (talk) 18:52, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 24 May 2019Edit

Under |tf 2 = {{{Washington|{{{WA|}}}}}} :

 |TF_2_PORTAL = Washington

 |TF_2_PORTAL = Washington (state)

Thank you, –MJLTalk 19:20, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

  Done --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:35, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Removing inactive Sub-projectsEdit

I propose that we remove from this template the sub-projects that are inactive, just like {{WikiProject Montana}} and {{WikiProject Nevada}} are not included. Any objections to such additional removals? UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:46, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Actually, after thinking about this for ~3 months, I think it makes more sense to leave them in an add text indicating they are inactive. I plan to begin doing so as time allows. UnitedStatesian (talk) 06:08, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
