Template talk:WikiProject Olympics

Active discussions

This is a WikiProject template belonging to Wikipedia:WikiProject Sports Olympics. It is to be added to an article's talk / discussion page when identified as a suitable Summer or Winter Olympic article for the project's attention. They should do this by adding {{OlympicsWikiProject}} to the start of the article _talk page.

Fair Use ImageEdit

Image:Olympic rings.svg is not allowed in the template namespace, per WP Fair Use Policy (#9). Please, can someone replace it with something appropriate that is available for free use? tiZom(2¢) 13:43, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Template appears to be broken, showing the following on pages where it's used: ([{{fullurl:Talk:2008_Summer_Olympics_torch_relay/Comments|action=edit}} edit] · [{{fullurl:Talk:2008_Summer_Olympics_torch_relay/Comments|action=history}} history] · [{{fullurl:Talk:2008_Summer_Olympics_torch_relay/Comments|action=watch}} watch])[show]

Anyone got any ideas? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulbrock (talkcontribs) 06:50, April 11, 2008

Thanks for pointing that out! It seems to be fixed. Jared (t)  21:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Edit request on 3 July 2012Edit

Could "Todo list" be changed to "To do list"? It is more grammatically proper, and looks better.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 12:45, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

It's not in this template, but comes from Template:WPBannerMeta/hooks/todolist. I've dropped a note at Template talk:WPBannerMeta/hooks#Todo list. If that discussion goes nowhere, we can override for this template by setting |TODO_TITLE=To do list inside the {{WPBannerMeta/hooks/todolist}} of this template. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Discussion at Template talk:WPBannerMeta/hooks indicated that to-do list was most appropriate. Hope this is okay — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:38, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 23 February 2018Edit

Please remove Wikipedia:WikiProject Olympics/to-do from the template, because the to-do list was last updated on 2010 and clearly has no purpose any more. We can manage at the project's talk page. Thanks! --Pelmeen10 (talk) 22:04, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 1 February 2019Edit

May I present to you, the Paralympic version of the WP Olympics logo. It has Paralympics colours with one crescent out symbolizing the Paralympians being disabled atheles. RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talk) 20:04, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks? – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:56, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
Just change the picture to this picture I've showed you, please. Thanks. RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talk) 17:29, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 10 March 2019Edit

Can you change the image of the Paralympics task force section to this image (File:ParalympicsWP logo.svg)? Thanks. RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talk) 19:43, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. Please correct me if I've got this wrong. You've uploaded an image, which you've created, and which has no external justification, and you want to impose it on a project in which you are not a participant without any discussion. Template-protected edit request on 21 November 2019Edit

I created a new WikiProject called WikiProject Olympics/Deaflympics as a sub project of WikiProject Olympics. So I would like to request to add the following sentence to the template.

This template is within the scope of the Deaflympics task force. For more information, visit the project page, where you can join the project and/or contribute to the discussion Abishe (talk) 02:16, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

Where was consensus demonstrated for (a) the creation of a task force; (b) that it should be sub to WikiProject Olympics? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:01, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
Request disabled. Please demonstrate consensus for this new task force by, at the minimum, posting at WT:OLY — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:30, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
