Quantify Stupidity Needed edit

Would it be safe to say that this is to be used mostly for people who do things that would get them sent to the Village stocks (i.e. Deleting the main page or crashing the servers), as opposed to smaller things (like erroneously deleting an article), where you would use a trout?--vgmddg (look | talk | do) 23:32, 4 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

this could happen to me? edit

A stranger applied this template to my talk-page, and I was not amused. The phrase "this could happen to you" and the link to a news article about a boating accident seem to imply that the recipient should be concerned about a serious accident in his or her future. In other words, the template comes across as a threat, not a joke.

Perhaps the template should be lightened up a bit by removing the "this could happen to you" and the link. Currently, it's only appropriate for friends who know each other well or have consented to being "slapped". --20:14, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

See "What Template:Whale look like when applied to a talk page" below. I don't think that the words "this could happen to you" or a link to a news article about a boating accident are part of this template. I believe they were added by whoever put it on your talk page, and thus your issue is with that user, not with this template. Guy Macon 13:56, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
At the time I wrote that, the link was part of the template. After waiting a decent interval for discussion, I removed them. —Stepheng3 (talk) 21:58, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Smash!

You've been squished by a whale!
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something really silly.
