The introducing of the flag at the right just looks ugly. I remove it. Aaker 22:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit request edit

{{editprotected}} Hi. Please replace the current code with the following, which

  1. adds a <includeonly> so the template is expanded on its own page;
  2. converts the above line into below (suggest template's balance then improved);
  3. uses linewrapping that works more reliably with Firefox as well as other browsers (and reduces the relatively wide gap between the list of links' wrapped lines).

Please also update
[[Category:European Union navigational boxes|{{PAGENAME}}]]
to [[Category:European Union templates|{{PAGENAME}}]].

Thank you. Sardanaphalus (talk) 00:47, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please remove List of European Union member states by population which I've merged and redirected to Member State of the European Union. jnestorius(talk) 08:34, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Remove lists edit

{{editprotected}} Remove the Member "states by accession" and "by population" from this template. Neither links to a list. The population list I redirected to the Member state list, which has all the same information plus more, with better updates. The accession redirects to Enlargement of the European Union, which is a more detailed article but, as far as lists go, it's not as good as the main one. Remember that lists are sortable now, so a lot of "List of A sorted by X/Y/Z" lists can be merged into a single "List of A" with sortable columns. jnestorius(talk) 18:17, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

ADMIN, Please remove the Member states by accession link and by population link. Thanks.- J.Logan`t: 13:52, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Visual update edit

Hi, I've been standardizing the EU templates with the European colours, flags, and a clearer layout, as can be seen in Template:European Union topics and all other EU templates, bar Parliamentary templates. Could someone do this same with this template? Thanks, YeshuaDavidTalk • 20:13, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted your edits. The standard colours should be used and flags violate WP:MOSFLAG. Rettetast (talk) 19:50, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Template:Members of the European Union (EU)Template:Member states of the European Union – I wanted to move this template to remove the redundant "(EU)" (and also replace "members" with the clearer "member states") but this template has been protected. I do not really see a need for this protection, the reason given was "very high-risk template" which I doubt – it is only used on 50 pages or so, and there has not been much vandalism, if any. Even if it needed protection, autoconfirmed protection would have been sufficient. Thanks, SPQRobin (talk) 00:21, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. The parenthetical acronym seems particularly unnecessary in the name of this template, and I agree that "member states" is more precise. ╠╣uw [talk] 15:18, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support; the " (EU)" on the end seems bizarre and pointless. bobrayner (talk) 17:07, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

remove or write uk as a former member of the european union

Chcheetah (talk) 08:38, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Not done - The UK is still a member of the European Union - how and when it will leave has yet to be determined - it could take several years Arjayay (talk) 08:41, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
