Template talk:Historic Environment Scotland

The template allows the user to specify Cat=A (or B or C) such that the citation issues, in parenthesis, (Category A)

  • Historic Environment Scotland. "IONA ABBEY (Category A Listed Building) (LB12310)". Retrieved 5 January 2021.

The template lacks a mechanism for providing a parenthetical value for (Scheduled Monument), (Garden and Designated Landscape), (Battlefield) &c , such as

  • Historic Environment Scotland. "Isle of May Priory (Schedule Monument) (SM383)". Retrieved 5 January 2021.

Instead, the best we can do is

So the ask here is 1) to be able to specify the classification of listing for all classifications (Battlefield (BTL), Garden and Designated Landscape (GDL), Historic Marine Protected Area (HMPA), Listed building (LB), and Scheduled monument (SM)), and 2) that Cat=A should render (Category A Listed Building) ragher than merely (Category A) --Tagishsimon (talk) 13:13, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

It looks like |cat= can take any value, but always prefixes the word "Category". We'll need to code in a switch. Let me take a look... Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:29, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
