Failing? edit

This template seems to be pointing to an invalid website as of 2009-07-04. --Closeapple (talk) 12:07, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, it seems this template doesn't work anymore because FIG moved the bios. Does anyone know the new URLs for them? Kolindigo (talk) 07:14, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is validated to be working at today;s date. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:48, 26 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Needs option for abbreviated output edit

This template needs an option to supress the "at Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique" part of the output, so we can avoid getting 500 links to the same article on a page like List of gymnasts. - dcljr (talk) 05:20, 5 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've added a brief= parameter to the template, but I haven't yet modified any calls on article pages to use it. - dcljr (talk) 19:02, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've edited List of gymnasts to use the "brief" version of this template. I guess that's actually the only article that contains hundreds of calls to this template. If anyone knows of any others, let me know (if you don't want to edit it yourself). - dcljr (talk) 17:49, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Gone again edit

Looks like the FIG links to athlete profiles aren't working again. The new FIG website claims that "access to the gymnasts' profile [sic] is nearing completion". When this happens, this template will likely need an update. - dcljr (talk) 17:57, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Back with new numbers? edit

The FIG "biography" pages are back ("Athletes" link from homepage), but only for some gymnasts, and it looks like the numeric codes have changed. For example, apparently Aly Raisman used to be {{FIG}} template missing ID and not present in Wikidata. but now she's {{FIG}} template missing ID and not present in Wikidata.. I'm not sure this template should even be kept anymore. Is there another website we can use for athlete information that's more reliable? - dcljr (talk) 19:26, 8 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Where the "new" URLs used "false" now apparently needs to be "true". And the old numbers seem to be working again: {{FIG}} template missing ID and not present in Wikidata. - dcljr (talk) 14:08, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Checking a couple of "random" gymnasts at List of gymnasts reveals that this template is finally working again! - dcljr (talk) 17:21, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Errors edit

There are some errors with trampolinist. See for instance Dmitrii Ushakov and Sergei Azarian. The link in the article using false in the html is working, but the link with the template using true in the link is not working. But with Gurkan Mutlu it is the other way around... Dcljr (talk · contribs) do you maybe know how to solve this? Sander.v.Ginkel (Talk) 21:05, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I guess we need another parameter to allow "true" or "false" to be chosen in the template call (seems to me the distinction is between "old" numbers and "new" numbers, so maybe the parameter should have one of those names??). I haven't checked to see what proportion of calls seem to require each version, so I don't know which should be the default. I also don't know how many athletes have two different numbers (like Aly Raisman, as mentioned above) and how many only have one. I'll look into this sometime "soon". (This is so annoying…) - dcljr (talk) 02:26, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
