No contest game edit

Maybe someone should explain to the NCAA what a no contest means. They currently list VCU as 19–8, not 19–7 as we have here. So what is it really then? Do we follow NCAA.com, or stick with what we already have? NCAA standings The A-10 site is just as helpful, as they list VCU at 20–7 and defeating Dayton twice on March 5 by the same exact score. A-10 VCU schedule

The A-10 site is riddled with errors, so I would not rely on that at all. The NCAA was very clear in its statements that this was a no contest, so it should not be recorded as a VCU loss (or an Oregon win). Rule 5-3 of the men's basketball rule book distinguishes between the two terms and outlines when an unplayed game should be a forfeit and when it should be a no contest. But the NCAA site is counting the Oregon-VCU game as a forfeit in its scores and standings for both teams for some reason. I don't know if there was a miscommunication somewhere about how it should be handled, but it's definitely an error on the NCAA site. Every other site I checked (Oregon's and VCU's official schedule pages, ESPN, etc.) has the game correctly categorized as a no contest and not counted in either team's record.
