Usage

The {{WikiProject U.S. Roads}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. The template does have a number of required parameters for assessment and maps, as well as optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The most commonly used parameters of the template, along with the required parameters, are as follows:

{{WikiProject U.S. Roads
| state        =
| class        =
| importance   =
| needs-map    =
| needs-jctint =
| needs-kml    =
| attention    =
}}

Unless the article is about a subject that encompasses multiple states, always specify the state with |state=. Use the two letter abbreviation. To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.

The template is broken up display-wise into three sections: the main section that is shown all of the time; an article issues section that has hide/show enabled and hides if three or more issues are listed; and a featured venues section that has hide/show enabled and hides if three or more venues are listed. If either of the latter two groups have no members, then that group is omitted entirely. All of the template's parameters are described below:
