General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - ?
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: List moved to mainspace on September 20, therefore new enough. Prose word count at "2486", therefore long enough. No copyright issues detect via Earwig. Article written in a neutral tone. Citations for the hooks need to be cut and paste into this nomination for clarity and review. Flibirigit (talk) 13:36, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

@Turismond and Catrìona: please cut and paste the citations for the hook into the nomination for review. Thanks. Flibirigit (talk) 13:38, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

@Flibirigit: Thanks for reviewing. Sources added above. I've struck ALT1, because while it is evident in the article/list, I'm not sure it is directly stated in any of the sources. Also, the Waffen-SS units have a higher body count, so I don't want to be accused of being misleading. Catrìona (talk) 18:01, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
@Catrìona: The two remaining hooks are cited as per the provided source. But, I am intrigued by two other paragraphs though, and I'm curious if you would consider other hooks. First the sense of betrayal, and the military crisis in the Book Review by Sönke Neitze, and second the two divisions causing one third of the civillian deaths as per Gentile, p. 4 & 5. How do you feel about those? Flibirigit (talk) 23:40, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
Flibirigit: In fact, I would be delighted if you have a better idea. Catrìona (talk) 00:07, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

@Catrìona: Let me know what you think. Flibirigit (talk) 00:57, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

I like these suggestions and am inclined to let the promoter pick. One suggestion: replace Wehrmacht with Luftwaffe in ALT3. The Clean Luftwaffe myth is even more enduring than the Clean Wehrmacht. Catrìona (talk) 01:13, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Done, I missed that one. Flibirigit (talk) 01:17, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
approving DYK review with preference to the last three hooks. ALT0 and ALT2 are also good if needed. Flibirigit (talk) 01:20, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
