Untitled edit

I've started to add a bit to the article. All are welcome to join in, as I'm not really sure how much more to say. Maybe merge it with the IRYU article? - Dastal 23:02, 15 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Inserted section on World Sailor of the Year. I will try to develop a table of past and current winners of the award. Taymaishu (talk) 03:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The indicated stubs could be better incubated within the main article. Haruth (talk) 09:05, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The aim when I created the other pages was to keep the ISAF page as short individual sections if it needed a story essay this should be another page. I didn't want essays on race officials taking over the page. The reason for the individual pages was that this is what other sports I looked at did. Maybe a page on sailing race officials would be another way forwards but I am keen to keep it away from the ISAF main page. I hope this helps and if you want to expand on the content then please do so. (User talk:yachty4000) 21st July 2011 —Preceding undated comment added 14:45, 21 July 2011 (UTC).Reply

Page OK edit

This page seems OK to me - it certainly does not require expansion. I have improved the drafting in various places and clarified the history. Anthony Butler 09:09, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

IWA and IKA edit

What about International Windsurfing Association - IWA and International Kiteboarding Association - IKA organized World Championships and World Cups? There is no mention of them in the article. Are those organizations not associated with World Sailing? Even if they are not there should be something to connect (http://internationalkiteboarding.org/the-sport/classes-and-equipment/types-of-kiteboarding) (http://www.internationalwindsurfing.com/windsurfing_competion_0002v01.htm) 213.149.61.214 (talk) 09:05, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Neither organisation has any status with World Sailing that I am aware of the only one that does which you haven't mentioned is the PWA. What both the IWA and IKA are the administration body for multiple World Sailing Class Association. I believe kiteboarding may be more complicated because of the PKRA and the agreement required to try and unify the sport but you would have to ask World Sailing about this there are some minutes somewhere. Professional Windsurfer's Association (PWA) has joined the IWA as an Associate Member (http://www.sailing.org/news/20300.php#.XGsm9CrQjIU). Here (http://www.internationalwindsurfing.com/windsurfing_competion_0002v01.htm) is a diagram; see IWA <-> WS connection. It seems to me that there is more than playing the part of the administration body. WS took for itself only olympic kite and wind classes. Other classes do not bother them. 213.149.61.151 (talk) 21:57, 18 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ranking of regattas edit

Some info on Grades (listing them, grades of notable regattas like World and Continental Chs, Americas cup..., points correspondence to grade level) and how they apply to privately owned events like World Match Racing Tour. I know that regattas that were part of WMRT were also graded.

Also, how do privately owned competitions connect to World Sailing (grading and other staff)? 213.149.61.151 (talk) 21:50, 18 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
