Great start edit
I'm glad to see someone actually did what I should have done ages ago and created this article, but the problem I raised back on the Conventions workgroup talk page remains - there aren't many good English-language sources. I notice that before I edited the page, all of the references were to TV Aichi's website, i.e. not third-party. If you look on Google News, there are quite a few sources, but most of them are in other languages - particularly Spanish, Portuguese (generally from Brazil), Italian and French. I added two of the English sources that I found could support existing text in the article, but anyone expanding the article further could do worse than to look through some of the others. Pay close attention, though, because some of those articles only mention WCS in passing, while others are press releases. And if there's anyone who speaks any of the languages mentioned above, I would *love* to see some of them used as well. Confusing Manifestation(Say hi!) 00:21, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Further updates edit
A great amount of work was put into the page around 2008 and 2009, the updates that have been implamented recently mostly revolve around updating information on the event and clarifying vague information. These include new countries that have joined the event, development of qualifier networks in larger countries and rule changes that have taken place over the years. The point that ConMan made on including third-party references remains and will continue to look into sources including those in other languages. Edo seijin (talk) 19:02, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Complaints about judge bias edit
I am about to remove, for the second time, an unverified claim that the judges in 2009 and 2012 were biased. I am not against these claims being in the article, if they can be linked back to a reliable source. If anyone knows where to find such a source, I'd be happy to help incorporate it into the article. Copy edit and layout edit
With articles like this, it's probably best to 'go big' while building the article and then trim it down afterwards. But still, it's important that everything be verifiable, and the best way to establish that is through diligent sourcing. Once everything in the years is sourced, the information in the History section should probably be rearranged by topic to avoid repetition and make it more concise and readable.
The tables at the back are a bit of a mess: full of trivia and visually distracting flag icons (see MOS:FLAG), and no references to be seen. I've made up a little table to replace text in the History section, focusing on key information, preceding the year-by-year text per summary style. – Reidgreg (talk) 06:18, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Gamers8 Cosplay Cup edit
given the current lack of clear information about WCS involvement with Gamers8 (nothing on official WCS Inc pages; nothing on Gamers8 media, only what has been said in comments on SNS) this section needs to be rethought and possibly removed to its own page. It is not WCS in Saudi Arabia. The Nagoya Championships are still the only World Cosplay Summit Championships. It has gone from a WCS Exhibition to its own Cosplay Cup and the page should reflect this. 131.217.255.205 (talk) 00:15, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
