Fair use rationale for Image:Wbendix.jpg edit

Image:Wbendix.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

His descent from Mendelssohn edit

It seems that all we know is there was a claim that he was descended from the composer, not necessarily that he actually was. The source for this seems to be [1], which states this information was “revealed on TV show "This Is Your Life" (1952); host Ralph Edwards awarded Bendix with a framed document signed by Mendelssohn”. That suggests that the producers of “This Is Your Life” had done some background checking before the broadcast, and for all we know Bendix may have been as surprised as any of the listeners. We don’t have access to their research, so we can’t check the claim. -- JackofOz (talk) 08:24, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Died in 1964, active until 1965? edit

Is there a legitimate reason why this article claims that Bendix was active until 1965 despite dying in 1964? Mal7798 (talk) 01:31, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

In 1911 movie? edit

I deleted this: "Bendix had a small part in a 1911 movie, the title of which has been lost to history.[1]"

IMDB didn't seem to support it. Plus, he would have been 5 years old at the time.VaneWimsey (talk) 06:31, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I heard his father was working in a Hollywood studio, and got him the part. But he didn't act in films again for many years. Valetude (talk) 06:20, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
