Talk:Whenever, Wherever

<--Spanish version: "Suerte"-->

Heading text edit

Can someone with more musical skills than me verify that the opening riff is the same as the one in "Shine on you crazy diamond" by Pink Floyd?

- it's almost identical, yes.

Suerte edit

This part... "There is also a version of "Whenever, Wherever" in the Spanish language, also written by Shakira and Mitchell, known as "Suerte". It was released as a single in a handful of nations in South America, and it peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart." ...shouldn't this be changed? It makes it sound like "Whenever, Wherever" was recorded before "Suerte" which is obviously not correct. Sharpdust 18:50, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Suerte" was actually aired on MTV before "Whenever, Wherever" was. A lot of us fell in love with the Spanish original before the English version hit radio, and that "Suerte" redirects to "Whenever, Wherever" (with no redirection message at all) seems terribly wrong. 76.107.228.36 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:53, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

El Clon (O'Clone) edit

I would like someone includes information about Whenever Wherever as the opening theme for the Brazilian soap opera "El Clon", broadcasted by Telemundo Networks. There is also a "TV Edit" version I guess it cames from this teleseries, but I don't know. The Spanish version "Suerte" was released in Latin America instead of the English version as a single in radios an TV, premiering the videoclip of Suerte in MTV LA. Lyrics are missing edit

I would love if we could include the lyrics in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jacobtrll (talkcontribs) 13:59, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's a copyright violation, so copies of the lyrics aren't permitted in any Wikipedia articles.—Kww(talk) 14:04, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Shakira TOTM 2003.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:Shakira TOTM 2003.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Legacy edit

I was thinking of adding a new section for Whenever Wherever, which is the legacy she left despite not reaching No. 1 led Shakira to be a sensation in the United States, leaving his personal mark on the mythical Belly Dance. Managing to be one of the best-selling songs in history. It is characterized by its incorporation of the charango, quena and other instruments, making its entrance into the Anglo industry.
