Survivial Horror Genre

I think it is a sub genre of an action-adventure game. That is how I saw it listed in magazines and gaming sites. Yes, we have a lot of horror games but that doesn't make it a genre on it's own. Does it?--Cube b3 (talk) 03:11, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

I'd much rather change the redirect target of game genre to game classification, or outright create a new article there. Someone really likes Thunderbirds eh? The article photo is appropriate- it looks very much like the mind’s eye’s concept of a video game, while perhaps a little generic 2603:8000:CA02:9FD5:ED8D:C985:143E:47E8 (talk) 19:02, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

It's the best I was able to find on Wikimedia Commons (so properly licensed) for something like a sci-fi-themed side-scrolling shoot-'em-up. I think it represents many concepts in the article quite clearly in one go, though the image feels a bit difficult to read too due to the odd shapes of the ships and the gunfire blending into the starry background.
