UFC 246UFC 246: McGregor vs Cowboy – The event title on the poster is the WP:COMMONNAME for this big event. The evidence from another UFC Event page move consensus Regice2020 (talk) 21:37, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - All UFC flagships event (248 of them as per to date) in Wikipedia is named just using the number for the since 2006 as when they were announced by the press when they were scheduled. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:29, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Comment - @Paine Ellsworth: and @Wugapodes: made it pretty clear the name of the poster is commonname for some reason. It revolves around WP:COMMONNAME for some reason. Regice2020 (talk) 00:24, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment -Regice2020 You have less than 400 edits in Wikipedia, I do suggest you to look thought all 505 UFC event pages and fighter pages, and UFC related pages for the last 14 years in Wikipedia to understand the norm here. You suggestion would disrupt thousand of pages in linking if the changes are to make and all UFC flagship names to be changed. I understand you want to contribute, it is only one off event name was changed which you have raised ANI against the editor and have seen the comment on the talk page for it was not unanimous and after the closing of the request, more editors opposed the decision - see Talk:UFC Fight Night: Zabit vs. Kattar, please halt your thoughts and observe for awhile on how things work like all of us (the mma editors) when we started editing. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:55, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
"you're wrong because you have made less edits that I have"? Don't bite the newbies, CASSIOPEIA - you've been told enough times already. 112.201.3.66 (talk) 05:37, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
112.201.3.66 nobody is biting newbie here, to suggest someone to familiar to the wikipedia norm is a advise and not biting and same as for a reviewer to move an unsourced new page to draft as per WP:NPPDRAFT guidelines, nor placing a warning message on any editor if the vandalized a page ,make a disruptive edit and etc or provide advise or suggestions. CASSIOPEIA(talk)
CASSIOPEIA you've chosen to ignore THREE warnings from THREE editors in the past about your BITEY behavior - this is the FOURTH. I suggest that you focus on the edits rather than editors in the future and refrain from such condescending comments. Your disruptive behavior is no longer considered to be a one off event, you are developing a habit of biting the newcomers and as such your presence on Wikipedia might considered to be both disruptive and unwelcome. 112.201.3.66 (talk) 06:31, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
112.201.3.66 If you have see my edits on what I reason and provide link to editors then you should know i didnt not bite for the editors stop replying after my explanation. Since you chose to edit as an IP editor here, not sure why you do that since you seem to know some Wikipedia info. For an editor to have about 400 edits and went to ANI and make a case of other editor and to tag/suggest to move a page name is not a newbie. I received many unpleasant message since I am a counter vandalism fighters and reviewer in Wikipedia as editor doesnt like when a warning message is placed on their talk page or they article is declined or nominate for speedy deletion or article for deletion or disagree with editor on talk pages. To provide warning message or giving advise is to educate the editors what should be done so they may know what they are not aware of and to deter the same behaviors to go against the what should be done in Wikipedia to better themselves on how to contribute to Wikipedia instead upset with me because I disagree with the move request above or they didnt know certain info/guidelines in Wikipedia/WP:MMA. It is up to the editors to learn and take the advice and if not they will find themselves in the same situation in the future. Dont get me wrong, I am edit mistakenly, or made edits which I dont aware of certain norm/guidelines in Wikipedia, and I learnt when I was told by other editors what I have done wrong and that same with most editor. If you want to discuss further, come to my talk page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:19, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yet again, CASSIOPEIA - you are concentrating on the editor not the edit. Your comment "Since you chose to edit as an IP editor here, not sure why you do that since you seem to know some Wikipedia info." is obviously an unsubtle attempt to insinuate that I am doing something underhand by using an IP to edit. Don't care about my IP, don't care if someone has made 400 edits, care about NOT BITING THE NEWCOMERS. Just watch your manners and be polite. 112.201.3.66 (talk) 18:10, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
112.201.3.66 Good day to you in Philippine I presume since you IP address is from Philippine, I have addressed the edits if you read them and you said "you're wrong because you have made less edits that I have" and upon checking your contribution log, that was your first edit. For you to know so much of Wikipedia info, either you have been editing Wikipedia in a registered user name or using other IP address that is common sense where and Wikipedia has a way to check if a IP address matches a registered user when it is needed. A person who how to raise a ANI to report someone (not me) and request for move a page name is not a newbie and if you look at the comments which I think you referred to on my recent talk page, some of the editors have been editing Wikipedia longer than I and they are not newbie but not aware of certain guidelines and they did not warn me but one asking me politely not to bite newbie where they dont aware of certain guidelines. I have explained and no more comments from me here on to you on this matter on this talk page here on. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:52, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
What has my location got to do with anything? Yet again, you are commenting on the editor not the edits. It's okay, if you are unwilling to discuss this issue, then perhaps others will discuss it on ANI. 112.201.3.66 (talk) 18:29, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - Same argument as Cassiopeia. All numbered events are named just like that. No need to add "McGregor vs. Cowboy for it". There were bigger events and they all followed the same pattern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gsfelipe94 (talkcontribs) 10:54, January 8, 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose - As per all previous UFC events where they are just titled UFC [number]. --Zimbabweed (talk) 00:38, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
