Unfortunately, this article is not close to the standard required of a good article. There are a couple dozen paragraphs that lack any citations at all, failing WP:WIAGA criterion #2 (verifiability). Additionally, there are still valid cleanup banners ([citation needed], [clarification needed]), meaning that this should be failed without further review (according to WIAGA). There are other problems as well (underlinking, language, e.g. "First, let's consider mass–thickness contrast"), but it would be futile to go into these into much detail without fixing the referencing issues first.
