Trivia edit

The trivia section should either be removed or better incorporated into the article. —Mears man (talk) 06:27, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Renaming edit

Is the performance part necessary? It is too long and besides its usually refereed without it.--JDDJS (talk) 18:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

1985 edit

Why were there no awards that year? Does anyone know? Thanks. (64.252.65.146 (talk) 01:23, 29 June 2010 (UTC))Reply

The result of the move request was: Not moved. No consensus. Insufficient evidence that current title is too long, or that shorter title is correct. Next time, please use multi-move. Born2cycle (talk) 05:50, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a MusicalTony Award for Best Actor in a Musical — The current name is longer then needed. It is usually refereed by the other name. I will also consider moving it to Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. JDDJS (talk) 21:44, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

The current title is a bit long but not overly so. The current title also has the added advantage of being the correct name of the award. Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical wouldn't be clear, either, as Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical also exists. In fact, Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical should probably be made a disambiguation page, for that same reason.  Chickenmonkey  22:14, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
It should not be a disambiguation page because most people looking for featured will add featured, but you do make a good point. I said before when making it I will also consider Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. If enough people agree with you, I will resubmit under new name. JDDJS (talk) 22:18, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
To be clear, I oppose any rename; the current name is correct.  Chickenmonkey  22:27, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: moved. Policy is clear, and no objections this time around. Andrewa (talk) 03:41, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

– I nominated this over a year ago, and it failed. However there was very little discussion. The main argument against renaming last time was that the current title was the "correct" or official name. However, WP:COMMONNAME applies here. Very few people refer to the awards as the "Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical". In addition there is already a precedent in other award articles. Not only do the other Tony Awards not have performance or leading in the title, but neither do most other awards such as the Academy Awards (ex: Academy Award for Best Actor). I support these moves. Shorter is better. It's clear enough, I think. -- Ssilvers (talk) 00:36, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Labels on charts edit

The labels on the charts for "Roles" and "Project" appear to be the wrong way around. 73.24.182.244 (talk) 17:24, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
