"One piece sheng"

What does "one piece sheng" mean? I've seen this sheng and it's not in one piece; it has a gourd and about 16 bamboo pipes, each with its own bamboo reed. So it's in several pieces. Badagnani 08:17, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

The body of the sheng (the spherical and cylindrical parts, minus the reeds) was made from one piece; typically, the body was made by gluing/binding 2 separate gourd sections, since it was unlikely that gourds could be found that were naturally shaped like the sheng body.--Confuzion 02:11, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

"the remains of ... women"...?

The grave contained the bodies of all together 21 women, says the article. Bot no word of how they died and how old they were... All by chance at the same time...? Is this a way of keeping chinese history nice by suppressing talk of human sacrifice...? --HilmarHansWerner (talk) 20:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

I think the source (an art history book) doesn't say. I'd imagine the Marquis might have accumulated many dead wives/concubines etc from childbirth and natural causes. Servants one might not expect to be given coffins, but I'm guessing. If they were poisoned/smothered etc the cause of death might well not be acertainable. Johnbod (talk) 01:13, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Pinyin transcription

Can somebody fix the article's title? 曾 is transcribed in Pinyin as Céng & pronounced with yang-ping tone in standard Mandarin; while Zēng was used to transcribe 鄫 or 繒, which is pronounced with yin-ping tone. Erminwin (talk) 18:45, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
