The Fartz also released a 9 song 7" EP in 1981. The title was "Because This Fuckin' World Stinks'. It wsa originally pressed locally and released with a Fartz records logo, then later rereleased on Alternative Tentacles records.

Original members of the band were Blaine Cook on vocals, Tommy Hansen on guitar, Steve (I need to find his last name) on bass, and Lloyd Shattuck (Loud Fart) on drums. Tommy was the first band member to leave, and was replaced by Paul Solger. Duff McKagan replaced Lloyd as drummer some time after that.

I'll attempt to dig out my supporting materials (memorabilia, zines, etc). I'm not yet entirely sure how updating a page works, but I wanted to add some basic facts while I sort out how everything works.

Suitable Sources? edit

Sometime soon I'm hoping to add a bunch of information to this article (and write one about Ten Minute Warning). Problem is the majority of it comes from Duff McKagans fanclub magazine, which is only avalible if you join the fan club and order the back issues. In other words the vast majority of people won't be able to check the sources. Could this be a problem? Danikat 10:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not ideal, but probably reliable enough. - Jmabel | Talk 07:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re-write edit

I've given the page a complete over-haul (with a lot of help from my boyfriend). I'm very inexperienced when it comes to writing articles though (I usually just to small edits) so theres probably some formatting issues and such. Also theres still a lot of information missing simply because I don't know it. Danikat 00:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Movie Appearances? edit

Maybe Someone should mentioned their appearance in Tommy Chong's movie "Far Out Man" Y/N?

Reply to unsigned above - Quoted from the book Destroy All Movies: The Complete Guide to Punk on Film: “Fictional punk band The Farts (not to be confused with actual Seattle combo The Fartz) flip off the camera while stereo salesmen in denim jackets do some low-impact slamming. As the false Farts flub punk mayhem, an audience member states that they’re the loudest band in the world, but even a goddamn Eskimo knows that Manowar holds that title. So fuck this movie.” Just another Hollywood fake punk band.

Bad linkage edit

The Tommy Hansen who was guitarist for the Fartz is not the Tommy Hansen who acts in gay porn. That link should be removed. He is, however, the author of "American Junkie". Sorry I don't know how to do the edits without making a hash of things.

Steve Hofmann edit

I corrected Steve's last name from "Hoffman" to "Hofmann" in several spots (it had already been corrected in some instances on the page, but not all). Steve Hofmann was my uncle (may he rest in peace), and we have the same last name. I'd love to figure out a way I can verify this via citation, but the surname is name is spelled incorrectly on most outside sources, even by bandmates. (Also, this is my first Wikipedia edit!)
