I have never seen or heard tamborins in Maracatu, but I've read about it, so I added it, but I'm not really sure.

What is virado? I thought the turning of the tamborim while playing samba is called 'cajatera'; just curious. Thanks, Stuart

I believe "virado" means "turned around", as in maracatu de baque virado ("maracatu of the turned-around beat").
